Hey everybody!
Soo.. I got free every day till oktober because I have to wait for my university to start.. except for that 1 day in like 2 weeks when my son is getting born. :> *massivehappiness*
One day I got online in my Clan TS and some people were playing Rust. I checked it out and bought it like half and hour later. :3
Not even a full day of gaming later I wanted to own a Server so badly, so I checked for the prizes and bought a 50 Slot one instantly. ^_^
I had a good start, for like 2 days 15-25 people were online nearly all day and even through night you always had a group to atleast chat with.
Then raids began, and thats perfect because why would I want a server I can't kill anybody too? (Sorry, not a PvE Fan :x)
People raided other people and me of course too. Some could defense themselves, and some couldn't.
All in all people started leaving and now the Server is nearly empty all day. :(
I started programing a Website for the Server so people can keep connection with the Server or get information about it easily via Web.
It's not finished yet but I'm working on it alot and more and more is getting finished every day.
I also have this Idea - You can earn Credits on the Website by for example beeing a good forum member or stuff like that to order ingame items with them - Of course this won't be OP and not everything will be buyable I guess. ;)
The Settings for my Servers are:
Sleepers: On
PvP: On
Airdrop_min playercount: 5
Everything else is set to default.
Now.. Whats my problem? How can I manage to get people to play and stay on my server?
I'm willing to spent alot of time ingame to help people, check for hackers and ban them and other stuff.
I'd love be able to call a great running Rust server my own. :)

Err I'll on your server when I get home from school, I've been looking for a server to rebuild on after getting raided by naked men flying through walls.
U can announce pvp but no KoS!! Worked so well on both my servers..
We have full pvp at air drop location/zone, but part from that no KoS ..
I've been playing on other servers, and get shot time after time of ppl in full kevlar seemingly wanting my rock!!!
I'm glad some people already joined to check out my server. :)
I have to find a way to have people on my server for all the time, because imo empty servers are not getting any first joiners :/
If I have a player count of 10 I'm happy already, it's a good start and attracts more players I guess. :)

This Thread is me asking you guys HOW to advertise my Server the best, I just posted my Website so people can look at what I created to maybe give some feedback or whatever.
And I also know where to advertise here on facepunch.

I wouldn't play on your sever because I like the added challenge of playing with more people. My ideal player number would be between 80 and 160. Since your server only has 50 people i would feel like I was playing solo too much.
I found a server with low ping, minimal hackers, fair admin and a max of 100 people but, if it's late and not a lot of people are on, I will go back to a hacker infested server just so I can get into rockfights and shoot at people with a pistol
Yeah but thats the problem, I have to get those 80 active players first. Expanding the Slots is no problem, I got money and it's not even expensive.
But why pay 200 slots if you barely get 20 players online at the same time?
Thats why I need to know what I could get attention so I can show people I'm spending time and working to make the server to something people enjoy to play on and stay. :/

Seemed to me like a poorly veiled advertisement for your server. If it was just about the question, there would be no reason to post the server IP.

Like I said, I'm sorry and it won't happen again, but what you said is exactly what I think ;)

I hope my Website is able to get some people to registrate, its easiert to keep all in contact with them via website. :)
I can't really tell whats so special about my server, I don't run any mods because I like Vanilla mode, the only special thing about the server is me I guess. ._. (Because I tend to be online all day :x )
Couple of things:
- Airdrop on 5 players --> Really? That makes it really easy for 1 guy to get all the drops if the others are too far away, I would suggest a 15 player minimum, that would keep it competitive.
- Raids --> If your server has been visited by cheaters/glitchers (even one) nobody would be safe because they would just nuke every building they laid their eyes upon.
At the moment there is (in my honest opinion) an uneven balance between builders and pvpers. For an active server you should have both, however the diehard pvpers will kill the builders (easilly) and raid all their stuff. Forcing the builders to a different server.
You should just advertise (wherever allowed) and make sure your server rules are CLEAR and enforced. (actively banning cheaters, 1 language spoken on chat, etc)
Furthermore: Make your server STAND OUT above the rest ;) (And I don't mean epic spawn rates, drop rates etc but a genuine fun server that stays fun.)

I already changed the Airdrop, 5 was def. to low. ;)
And we had no cheaters yet, only very active players which had farmed themselves a couple of C4 and then they began raiding. :)
So there more pvp people than building or?
How to make it Stand out? :) I already use my website name in Server name :)
