Just a friendly message to people complaining about people hacking. Nobody cares. You think that you have it so bad because once in a blue moon you hop on a server and get nailed a couple times by a p250 and start screaming HAZKXAF HACKX HAXXAXX. How about no. Back in the day of closed alpha, where there was 40 people online, if that, we had it WAY worse. First of all, there was ZERO anti cheat. You could literally open up cheat engine and fly to the moon. Want unlimited ammo? that was all clientside, modifiable by cheat engine. Want to be able to see in the dark? scan around with cheat engine. One of the worst things was speedhackers, but they came after the real hackers. Once, and only once, i used l33t speedhacks to run around and explore the whole map and coastline because the rad wall that existed wasnt infinitely thick, probably for some performance reason? Anyways, theyd run up, and hatchet the shit out of you, yes hatchet, there were no pickaxes or rocks yet. Youd be dead before you even knew what hit you. N Stepping. Unplugging your ethernet cable, shooting someone a bajillion times and then plugging it back in. Killing them instantly. It also allowed you to walk right into houses because doors were the last thing to load in at the closest draw distance. Im starting to rant here, but anyways, nowadays you have little script kiddies who think theyre soooooo cool because they can make an account on mpgh, download hacks, get banned, and then complain about it. Back in the day, we had REAL hackers. Not some dumbass little kid, some actually intelligent person out there to piss people off and ruin the game for them. I can list a couple right now off the top of my head, ill try to remember more. Sleepy, Chocolate, Chunky. These people, probably working together, managed to come up with full on flying hacks, doorclipping hacks, not walls, wallhacks or the ability to shoot through structures, and fully loaded esp and aimbot shit. All topped off with a minimap that would show other players locations and names from far away. You guys dont have shit to put up with today. Problem? move to another server. Something you cant do when theres only one. You also have mostly active admins. We had helk, pat, and garry who would really only hop on after a semi major patch was rolled out. Pats a nice guy, never saw much of helk, and whenever garry came on, hed rarely talk to anyone. Normally just put out an announcement that the server was gonna restart, be down, or all shit was gonna be wiped. Now imagine these people, busy with making the game and trying to fix shit that people are constantly complaining about. And on top of that, theyre supposed to moderate the server as well? Heck no. The REAL hackers were banned after a couple weeks of abuse, but after they were banned, someone released their hacks and people were doing all kinds of crazy shit. Others continued to speedhack and n step. N stepping became way worse after the implementation of the pickaxe, as it would be easier for the user to get a quick two hit kill before they were kicked for lagging out. After reading this, think about the miniscule amount of shit that you have to put up with playing this game and stop whining. Have a nice day and go back to playing rust.
no one cares Hacks are hacks at the end of the day, whether it is now or when there was 40 people online
I don't even understand the point you are trying to make. You started off talking about things "back in your day", then started talking about Garry and Helk, and then just randomly get back into hacking. People have every right to complain about hackers, and I suppose you have the right to complain about the complaining. And I'll complain about you complaining about their complaining. In the end, it doesn't really matter. Nobody cares either way.
Everyone complains about everything...including huge walls of text, so...
well it wasnt that much hacking when i joined saw 1 hacker in october...
Sounds like my grandfather that use to tell me he would walk 20 miles in the snow each day just to get to school.
There was 40 people to moan about hacks then... now theres hundreds of thousands... do the math and work out why there are more people moaning...
Nobody cares.
Thank you for adding another thread to this forum to help bring attention to the matter. As a member of the Facepunch-please-for-the-love-of-fuck-do-something-about-it side of the debate, I deeply appreciate your work on our efforts! If nobody cared, you wouldn't have posted this thread.. LOL Thanks again!
Sounds like my grandfather that use to tell me he would walk 20 miles in the snow each day just to get to school.
...up hill both directions, amirite?
lol "back in the day" I'm sorry we not all old timers like you who remember the golden times when a bar of chocolate cost much less and this was all fields. you also admitted you've hacked "just to see the map" shame on you! I've never seen the entire map (in-game) because I'm not a cheater like you :P
Sounds like my grandfather that use to tell me he would walk 20 miles in the snow each day just to get to school.
Hahah,got similiar stories here too
Damn, I can't get that time back.
You're worse than the kids complaining that they got banned.
this is stupid.. we should all complain about hacks until there is some progress. it really turns people off of an amazing game
While I agree that the hacks need to go, i do remember a time in gaming that had a real hacking problem. Anyone else remember the old days of Quake 1 and 2? That was a problem, Rust fails in comparison to the volume then. In short, there is no "Easy Button" folks, you have to wait or move on. But please if you choose to wait, keep the noise down. Us old timers are trying to nap. lol
