I sometimes experience a static sound while playing Rust. It starts randomly it seems and it's directional. It sounds like its in once place on the map and I can move closer towards it, farther away, turn left and right and it'll be in my opposite ears. Anyone else have this problem? It's only with Rust.
That's called Radiation mate - Bottom Right of your screen has your RADS.
I know radiation, it's not my Geiger Counter going on the fritz. It's a completely different sound. It sounds like a radio tuned to static.

Hear it all the time as well, when my friend and I first started playing we thought they were waterfalls in the cliffs, and were trying to use them to find each other, only there are no waterfalls -.-
Its wind in the trees lunatics
I've heard it's used for finding the coast, or it's the wind in tree's. But if that's honestly the sound that they're using for the wind in trees or water crashing it sounds NOTHING like it. More like a radio tuned to static.
Sounds like water to me, but since I don't see no water, or trees most of the time I hear it in game, I just ignore it as random ambience.
