So, new pc, new specs, new OS (Windows 8.1 x64), everything is perfect, i start to play rust, and everything is good, BUT. Since 2 months ago, i literally can't play this awesome game. It's been 3 weeks of searching solutions and trying everything! After a random time from 20 to 120 minutes, i get kicked from every server i play, with the following error:
steam Auth:K_EAuthSessionResponseVACCheckTimedOut
I can't log in any server for 10 minutes (Counted them), and after that, i can normally play again, obviously, after some time, it'll happen again, over and over, and i got this problem since the last updates. I get this error in Legacy too, by the way.
Made every kind of research, already made a less-clear thread for this, and I am here again, shouting for help, because i love this game and i want to play it! (90+ hours) >.<
Things i tried:
-Restarting and resetting the router.
-Tried ALL of the options here
-Repaired integrity cache of Rust and no errors.
-Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Sometimes it seems to work, i played once, after the 2nd option i listed, for 3+ hours straight, i was happy, logged out, then get back in after 5 hours, and got the damn problem again. I don't know what to try anymore. Help please, or fix... X.X
Edit: I think it happens often during morning and evening, because at night, i can play further than 1h straight without getting kicked, but during usual gaming times, it kicks me more often. Counted 30 mins and got kicked, i also tried to reinstall the game again before this. My god, this is really bad.
Help? Anybody?
I had that too, I disabled OneDrive(Skydrive) and then I didn't have it anymore, might've been just a coincidence though.

Gonna try immediately, i'll soon put an edit here.
Edit: It didn't damn work. My god.

I put a ticket in the facepunch support, and they said: "Unfortunately there's no reliable fix for this yet. It happens randomly to random players at random times, and as far as we know it's got something to do with Steam's servers. The only thing we can do at the moment is hope that the Rust developers figure out the problem's reason and fix it in the future."

This time i got kicked after 10 (!!!) minutes. I don't know what to do.
So, after tons of retries, we didn't get anything out of this. I'm so sad :C
Edit n.4132: Around steam discussions, i found someone talking about deleting all EAC files in rust and then do the integrity cache repair, unfortunately, still nothing.

Make sure steam is up to date it took me forever to see this was the problem because i would usually ignore steam updates and rust experimental wouldn't let me join or open so i decided to update and it works

Thanks Rafchung for the suggestion, every little suggestion is important to understand this problem. I am afraid that my Steam client is up-to-date, just checked right now...
Edit: Funny thing is, it never kicks you in random times, i mean, it kicks you always in multiples of 10 (es. 10-20-30-40 minutes etc..), this is very interesting.
Only suggestion I can think of is to verify your files in steam

Done, all verified, and obviously tried the steam service repair, no signs.
I have the same exact problem! I have like 1k+ hours in rust and this started happening like 2 weeks ago. I've tried everything and I still get the message. Sometimes it ranges from an hour to around 10mins. I hope they come out with a fix soon for those who have the same issue.
New update and still no sign of fix, this is really getting complicated!
i have a similar problem except it dose it the second my character spawns in
The thing that makes it even more weird is that fact that not everyone has this issue. I have like 20 friends that play on rust and I'm the only one with the issue.. So its weird how its only a certain amount of people having this issue.
EVERYBODY LISTEN.
It seems that I solved the problem (All thanks to MrAmos123 on GitHub)
As that guy said, there was a program that interfered with VAC system.
A lot of processes could do this, and you should watch for yours! As he said: "The program that I removed that fixed it, was 'IOBit Start for Windows 8', if you have that, remove it.
Restart your PC, and try again. Make sure your DEP is enabled." (If you don't know what DEP is, watch my first thread up here, where i linked the Steam Troubleshooting solutions)
So, what I did, was removing that program, making sure that it was COMPLETELY removed (it was on both hard drives), restarted and YES! Almost 2h of gameplay with no VAC Check Time Out! As soon as i can, i'll try further, but i think i solved it. [After i cancelled that program, i tried to play, without rebooting, and i got kicked as always, after I rebooted, no more kick, so i think it's gone, FINALLY)
If you don't have that program or you still have this problem, you should try to uninstall every program that is not fully necessary (and in case doesn't work, install it again and try another one) always rebooting and making sure before reboot that you deletel ALL the program files! (Check in every drive carefully!)
OMG no way, that worked for me.
I uninstalled the Start buttonf rom IOBit and restarted, haven't been kicked since!
:)

agree me too
I went to control panel and i uninstalled it but for some reason i keep getting kicked
Has anyone had success in fixing this problem in Windows 10? I am becoming very frustrated.
I also am still having this problem and no solution or fix yet for Windows 10. It's sad that I have yet to even see a dev or anyone acknowledge this issue...
Yeah, been getting this problem recently also. As I'm typing this there are 12 guests also viewing this topic, I guess I'm not the only one lol.

I've been having this same issue on my server too. Getting kicked randomly. Sometimes it takes 20min and other times i can play up to a hour. Hope Garry will find a way to fix it.
Windows 10 and Rust seem to have the same Vac time out thing for me. Absolutely NO help from any avenue! Cmon ppl, give us a break!
