• Rust: Now 150% unplayable!

Just yesterday I could actually play the game due to accessing a community server in the list with low (10!) ping. Today, I can't connect to ANY server. Community list just freezes the game when I click on it, and the official list is ~100(US East.)-500 ping servers, which makes getting killed easy / killing difficult. Literally no point to bother. My guess is that the server browser is constantly choking on the # of servers being brought up. Wouldn't it be a good idea to make a minimalist server browser (See: Half-life 2 Deathmatch, TF2 before the un-needed GUI addition to server search.) so it could snap up all the lists without freezing and such? Otherwise, yeah - Can't play Rust right now. Seems like a botched purchase. (Aware it's an alpha, but uh...can't even test after one day of being rocked!)
Yeah server browser's really shit and frustrating, only way for me to join a server is to use net.connect ip, i keep the ips just so i dont go through this again
F1 and enter server IP. For example my server Lost is net.connect 23.29.119.166:28035
It does take a while for the server lists to load, but I have never seen such high ping on any server, official or otherwise. I believe the problem is with your connection or proximity to the server.
You need to wait till the server list has finished refreshing and than you can join a server, I found this issue out as well, waited for a bit and joined a server once my fps was fine.

The community servers all show low pings, minus those in weird spots like Brazil and beyond. Literally: -US East NoSleepers Prozone blah blah blah (Community List) 25 ping. -US East (Official) Stress Test 150 ping. Both with 200 players max pop. That and how do you get a server IP on a server you've never been to before?
i'd recommend community servers anyway, official servers are full of hackers and they're mostly full
i'd recommend community servers anyway, official servers are full of hackers and they're mostly full
Except 80% of people cannot connect to Community Servers.
