• C4 mats too much grinding?

So yeah, I came back to rust last month after quite some time away. So far I've had great fun but one of the main things that has felt very unbalanced was the time/effort/reward it takes to craft C4. The main issue I think that exists its the triangle layers/onion layers/amount of doors players can add now, obviously I know this is part of the game and adds a great amount of diversity to players base defences, but its seemed for me and my group lately that if you don't have a huge clan of say 15+ raiding can be quite a sour and frustrating experience For example, my group of 6-7 farmed for 2 days straight to obtain C4/rockets to raid a not so elaborate cube base, no triangled layers. After 6 rockets and 6 C4, blowing doors and soft picking the whole building was empty...we came away with 3 corn seeds, while people could blame the way we raided and the walls we blew (even though we managed to get on a 3rd floor wall to start) In my opinion I was pure bad luck. This bring another problem to hand, my group has a considerably big and well defended base, other large bases and clans in the areas tend not for raid each other due the fact they know the loot is a considerably large amount of C4 away. This in effect swallows up the little guy, having zero chance to raid or hold on to anything due to being eaten up but big groups. I wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with this? any views?
That doesn't sound like a sizeable ammount. Your group could be raiding with that day one of wipe if you got your shit together. After the first few days grinding becomes a pretty big chore [first batch of sulphur you own is just a biproduct of getting your base up, which is nice]. You guys need to learn how to take the chopper down. It has a loot spawn of 3 rockets and 2 c4 up to 4 times per heli crash. Takes a couple of stacks of ammo between you all using bolt actions hitting the weak points. Edit: Also, concentrate on making rockets. 4 rockets in the corner of 4 panels is highly effective at opening stuff up!
Its a game of balance ... you want C4 easier to make, fine, double the HP of all the items you plan to use it on. Not all of us play this game to grief players, a good number of us are playing to build bases that are difficult to raid (that's the challenge we like) and if Facepunch makes it too easy to raid, those of us in it for the building aspect will just move on to a different game. As it stands right now, it is ridiculously easy to destroy things, given the work/risk it takes to farm the mats to build them.
Don't really understand how groups can bitch about farming how do you think single players get on ? I think to make it fair if your in a group everyone that shares a cupboard privilege should get a percentage of there farming reduced so if there is two players then they gather 90% of what they would normally gather if three then 80% of there intake if four players then 70% this would average out fairer and would help slow down the huge groups taking over the server quite as quick with their huge amounts of rockets and c4 The single or pairs need to stand a fair chance at this game
How about 20 explosives instead of 25
When i try to raid someone i observate this guy over a good amount of time. Then i decide "Is it worth??". If the guy farm 24/7, i try to find the weak spot of the base. When i find out the position of the main lootroom i gear up and try to raid him. 80% of the Raids are worth it. But when i dont plan my raid i fail very often. In the most cases the raid is it not worth because you need to find the cupboard at first. 20 Explosives instead of 25 sounds good.
I am not bitching about farming ... but I am sick and tired of the whining. Its easy enough as it is to raid. Hell, they just dropped the damned walls from 2000 HP ... you can destroy a damned high stone wall now with 2 c4. So, we've reached a point of, "Why even bother to wall in your compound with stone walls when anyone can defeat it so easily. We just had a situation on our server 3 nights ago, where one compound was hit and breached by three guys running together, with 5 C4, they made 7 C4 from the looting of that compound while they were looting. Rinse and repeat, those three people raided 8 different compounds in a little less than 3 hours. Now, I'm not complaining about the raiding either ... my point is too damned easy to breach even a well built compound now, without making it easier to load up on C4. They was buffed. Before the patch every clan pickaxe through an high external wall but they need C4 now. Its very easy to build bases which are not worth to breach. I think you build shit houses with weak spots like wooden floor etc.

Simply have only one guy on the cupboard.

Most of the time 4 rockets is enough when aimed right to take down 4 walls. After that when we still dont have a clue where the loot might be we use another 4 rockets. Bottem line is that we only use c4's for hitting certain spots with "precision"
Well, I am relatively new to the game, but when I started playing, stone walls were 2000 hit points, now they are 750. Was there a bug that allowed them to be exploited? That may be, I was not aware of that. But I do know as the game stands right now, one is better off to build a wall of honey-combed wood walls around their base they can upgrade to stone, then to metal later. Now, if that is the intent of Garry and his team ... so be it. It wouldn't be the design I would go for, but I am not king of Facepunch. [QUOTE=Kurogo;49787847]Not only unnecessary, but this so too easy to avoid. If you want balance, get just as many players on your side. Making one player's effort worth more than another player's effort simply because he's anti-social isn't balance, it's coddling.
its not too much grinding its simply to much crafting. If i play something i dont wanna go 30mins afk to craft something safely
I think the crappy time is the balance for people from getting retarded amounts of c4 no time, takes time to create something overpowered c4, rocket launcher, bolty.
i play solo and think, for raid is really annoyng do a lot of C4, but if it become easer, the large groups just will vanish all other players, because small houses raids will be ease and worth enought to recover the resources used

When sleeping bags have a no build radius for other sleeping bags then we balance it a little bit. Big clans must build rooms only for sleeping bags. In real life(pls dont punch me for a real life comparison) 20 player would need much space to sleep.

Bunk beds and hammocks come to mind...and then there's rotating shifts...
Not to much grinding at all IMO, all depends on how you do it. Day 1 of our current wipe, we (8 man group) got raided by a 10 man group. They crafted 30 rockets and 12 C4 within 12 hours of the wipe. Our base was big enough by then that we absorbed the hit and they didn't make it to the loot. 2 days later we hit them with about 45 C4 and wiped them out. All about knowing where to build and what priority to farm in.
