i have an i mac and its been working perfectly fine running rust. no lag, no errors. nothing. and just out of a sudden whenever i open up rust i will get into the server then about a minute of being in the server my IMAC just restarts and it keeps doing it. I've tried turning graphics down and render quality down and nothing is helping. I've also deleted and re-downloaded rust 3 times and restarted steam a bunch and deleted steam and re-downloaded it. i don't know what to do to fix it. so if any one can help it would be much appreciated
Sounds like a heat issue to me. But I hate macs and not willing to even try to troubleshoot one.
Bootcamp the hard drive and load a version of Windows. Mac's arent meant to play games and never have been. No matter the hardware in the Mac, Windows runs it better.....
You do have an Antivirus installed I hope? Try a mac torture test program to see if it still reboots. Possibly your vid card is failing, which in a imac is integrated, so you're looking at a hefty apple store bill for repair.

ya i have a antivirus installed. and I've only had this iMac for 2 months so i don't think it would be broken cause i take care of it. this problem just recently started and its only when i use rust. when i open minecraft or any other games its fine. but it only happens when i open up rust??? so i don't think bootcamp would do any help for that.
Minecraft will not tax your system like Rust will. Search for hardware stress program for mac. If you cant find one, try a demo of a modern game that either also runs Unity 3d with the same sort of detail, or a game that requires a m0dern video card like a cryengine. Unsure what is MAC suported though. The good news is since its only 2 months old and if you smartly bought apple care, they will fix it for free at a apple store.
