I have a server box that has a lot of resources to spare (ram/CPU), could I help you all out and host a few servers? It would be nice because I have a lot of bandwidth so it wouldnt go down as easy as some of the servers. Any administrators?

I'm gonna say no. You also sort of ruined any chances by saying you "have a lot of bandwidth" and "it wouldn't go down as easy", which indicates you think that attacks somehow go off the bandwidth allocated to your machine.
I doubt it. Facepunch has enough money to buy their more resources (or so I am lead to believe by Garry's blog).

The amount of money made so far on rust isn't all going to development most of it is going to bonuses. I believe Garry said it was 70% to bonuses and 30% to development.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but how is this at all relevant? Bonuses are bonuses, don't give out as much and all of a sudden you have money you can spend else where...

If you have more bandwidth (speeds) than the attacker then it will not go down.

I don't think you'd be able to settle with "A lot of room to spare", you'd need an entire server box clear for a Rust server in order for it to handle a stressed one with many players and buildings, it'd also need to be the one of the most expensive ones. Pretty sure the team can afford servers themselves with all the money rolling in, as well as the Gmod funding (Unless they've dropped that by now)

Meanwhile, if they're using a proper botnet (and I assure you they are), they're thrashing a server with gigabits upon gigabits of bandwidth. Good luck having more bandwidth than that unless you have a dedicated OC-48 line just for your "server box".
You'll have to provide some specs at the very least if you want the admins to give this some serious thought.
