I think it would be cool if rust made a leveling up system like where you could be level one, two, three, four, and so on so forth.
It wouldn't be something that would give you a advantage. It would just show how experienced you are in the game so people know not to mess with you.
It would also give people a goal in the game like "I gotta level up to 24 so I be a level ahead of my friend".
So that's why I think it would be a good idea.
No.
We could say Garry already said things like this will never happen.
That's against his concept of freedom.
And we already have threads about this topic.
Edit:
But if you look at server mods like oxide, you will see some modders will do this.
The quality of the items you can afford to carry around and the size, quantity of bases you own is pretty much your level. As the game develops more items will be added to pad out the progression so hopefully it will take longer than a night or two on a server to be ''max level'', for example the proposed stone tier building construction between wood and metal. I'm sure we will see more clothing to pad the gap between Kevlar and leather along with more weapons as the military stuff is slowly replaced / made rarer.
like said before modders will do this.
some servers already have currency mods, it works the same like xp farming, and im sure someone of the modders can add a command that let you view the top 20 on a server or such bullshit.
but whats that good for?
"oh look he is lvl 26, he must be very skilled..."
"yeah he has mastered the art of wolfhunting last night..."
/sarcasm out
