Recently this video was uploaded to show a glitch on how to loot through any wall. There's still a ton of development to be done. The game is no where remotely close to complete and to think that there aren't bugs/exploits/glitches/hacks/whining/pwning etc is just, well, retarded.
Apparently no one realizes what an Alpha really is.
To put it simply, they're working on it. Be patient.
I would put this on the exploit sub forums. Very interesting exploit though.

Tested this earlier today...not sure how/why it happens but there is sometimes a gap between the pillar and wall of a building, if a crate is closeby, and the gap is wide enough you can easily pull items out of chests. My best guess is that the pillars irregular size has something to do with it
