I haven't played the new update yet, but I'm glad they're messing with the loot tables. I don't always sit down to play rust on the same server for 20+ hours between wipes. I often join for casual games. The last update I played long enough for me to loot around 30+ barrels and acquire zero blueprints. Most of the barrels were empty. I did collect 4 sets of metal bodyarmor which was nice. But no blueprints to make them again when I died. It was kinda funny, I spent some considerable time doing what I normally do: create a small house that can only be entered by building blocks to jump into then removing, since the tool cabinet allows this to make my base safe. I acquired tons of metal. And was unable to use any of it because there are no good recipes so I went on a longggggggggggggg raiding run around for blueprints so I could make some guns. That's when I went on the long search for the 30+ barrels which eventually left me empty handed. I also fell to my death off a lighttower with a lot of the loot which was sad but who cares about that. Anyway, yeah I hope they seriously boost(ed) the likelihood of finding any blueprints. I'm not going to invest a 20+ hours into a game that's gonna get wiped frequently on the hopes that I find good blueprints. I was playing on an official server and it's a constant naked dude war. If I can't find a blueprint and all my progress is reset so frequently through deaths then there's really no point in playing. At least if I died w/a blueprint I would have some net gain toward establishing my character into becoming a little more sinister and capable of raiding another persons house w/out a team of 30 rock smashers.
So yeah, hope this new adjustment really boosts the drop rates for blueprints. It's hard enough to get to the point of actually making anything, but to get to that point and have nothing to build is disheartening.
