• Idea for Sleep Base Structure Invulnerablility

Hey guys, Now before you start posting hate, hear me out here. So I thought of an Idea a few nights ago that I think might work in rust. I know im not the only one that goes offline inside their base and then has a nice sleep, then wakes up to their base looted and destroyed. If you are lucky, you can survive a few nights without being raided. But sometimes it's just not fun, as you cant have an epic battle to fight against your attackers, so I have come up with a system that I would like you guys to give feedback on! :v: Ok so the basic idea is that when you log out of a server, there will be a set amount of time (I would personally set 20 minutes) that your base (Foundations Etc. not shacks) will be vulnerable, and then after the set time, it would become invulnerable. This is so that if you are away, you cannot just get dry looted unfairly. The reason that there would be a time limit is to stop combat loggers from just logging and saving their base if it is being raided. Anyway, so thats the barebones of the idea. I would really appretiate it if you guys could give some feedback (Hopefully constructive), as I think we could all help with ideas for this game. - SexyWalrus
If you don't like being raided: Make friends Make a larger base Build in a better spot Play on a PvE server
I don't mind being raided if im on the server, because thats how the game works and I appretiate that. If im wondering around some rad town for 30 minutes and my base gets raided then its my fault for not protecting it, but there are sometimes where you have to get off of the game for sleep and such, which I think is just a cheap way for people to come into your base, kill you, and loot all of your precious belongings, and you cannot do anything about it. My idea tackles that :)

"I do not like being raided when I go offline, rather then play non sleeper servers I am just going to ask that they make it so sleepers can never be killed TOTALLY making sleepers POINTLESS... YAY!!! carebear..."
It tackles it sure but its also cheap for a thief to break into your house and steal your 52 inch plasma screen. Its not so cheap for a potential thief to be blasted in the face with a flamethrower when he tries to break in. I say nay to invulnerable bases and yay to traps alarms and a trained lion.

At least it gives some protection when you are away, and if it didnt work, then you come up with better plans, and figure out your weekspots right? This is a much better alternative to my idea, thanks for sharing :)
bad idea.. get creative with your builds.. hopefully they eventually allow us to create traps.. with no sleepers raiding becomes useless since not everyone plays at the same time it would be easy for a player to just take all his best stuff and put it on him every time he logs out
This idea has been suggested many times. The answer will always be "no, either quit pussying out, or play on a non-sleeper server." Devs are NOT going to modify this feature when there is already a way to do so.

Do you think that the Devs will ever add in some sort of defence system that is craftable though?
when will you people realize it isnt a question of creativity but a question of resources. oh c4 got you down? , well then build a big fucking house with the resources that were stolen because your house wasn't big enough to stop the raiders. lovely just lovely . i just love how peoples answers to the i lost all my resources because of raid thread is to "get even MOAR resources and build an EVEN MOAR expensive house " because that really will solve the starter shack issue , because you gotta store your shit somewhere right?

I am sure it is coming, you just gotta wait. If you can't stand getting killed, the only thing to do is to play non-sleeper.

When society breaks down there are always those who try and take from those who are vulnerable. This game is no different. To survive you have to use cunning, persistence, make good decisions on who you partner with (along with loads of luck). You will not find a massive complex built on or near a main road in this game unless it's been built by a number of players working together and they always have someone logged in watching over their compound. If you're "going solo" or in a small group you have to keep your base of operations well off the beaten path and out of plain sight (or have multiple sights hidden around the map). The game developers are not going to cater to players who log on once a week for an hour or two and expect all their loot to be intact. They want people to play as often as they can, they're doing this to make money by the way. Honestly, I believe the game map is far too small for solo players (especially on the 100+ player servers). I think a more realistic server populous for a map this size and the limited resource areas would be 50-75 people. Any more than that seems more like an "arena match" with people running this way and that to avoid direct gunfire...
Um.... I up vote the bloke who said traps and most importantly- trained lions.
you cannot just get dry looted unfairly. How is it unfair if everyone can get raided this way? Imo i think this is a bad idea sine then you can just make a shitty house then youre safe. With that you can die when youre offline and people can raid you makes atleast me and my friends to build better bases that aren't as easy to raid. Intead like with your idea you can just put a foundation 3walls and a metal door and just have it like that.
