Cheat Punch false ban by teleport?? - Rust

[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/FPtZoUi.png[/IMG] I rented my first RUST server yesterday and I was installing mods today inside the game console and I got this message when enabling cheatpunch. Im looking for advise from other server owners / admins. Do you guys have cheat punch enabled on your server and have you had any problems? I plan on installing oxide, a handful of oxide plugins and cheat punch. I want to keep out some of the cheaters but I dont want to be banned myself when teleporting to players if they need help:( Any thoughts?

I read the whole cheatpunch thread, which was pretty big so I can't remember exactly where, but I'm pretty sure I seen Garry say that Cheatpunch wouldn't kick for teleporting. I would only use the RCON teleport though, because I don't know if that applys to the teleports that you can do with Oxide commands. Maybe somebody else that has a battlefield server that commonly uses the /tpa command can come verify whether those are safe or not. Last I heard there was no false positives at all yet, I trust Garry is telling the truth.

It will not ban you for teleports or any other admin commands, or even server side mods.

I want it on my server, but being a noob admin I've yet to figure it out. If you figure it out and not get any issues could you post how you got it? Thanks in advance. Edit: Never mind, i just noticed that we have different server providers so it will more then likely be a different process for each. I use HFB.

well i have taken the time to test what you sayed OP. I Teleportet an friend with Oxide mod and with recon across the whole map while cheatpunch is aktivated. After that i checked his steam id if he is flagged or banned and nothing happens to him until now. should something changes i will tell it in this tread :) edit: i used the rusty rcon tool for the modded teleport, im sure there are enuff other mods out there but i dont think that changes something :)

"Checkpunch" bahahaha --- I teleported gazilion times today using oxide and rcon command on my test server and i'm yet to get banned for that. I'm quite sure this was started by someone that got banned for using hack and tried to call a false positive on this :P. Those tools are serverside and i'm 100% sure that cheatpunch is a clientside antihack tool that only check for clientside alterations and does not check for serverside commands. I'm still trying to understand why i got forum banned for 1 day though oO. I dont remember breaking any rule. But to be honest i remember posting one angry comment few days ago :P Sorry postal.

Thanks guys for the positive feedback! (Yea I noticed the typo as well when I first saw that message) Looks like I will be enabling CheatPunch on my server. I figured I ask the community first before making any decisions. I appreciate everyone who took the time to reply :smile:

As Garry has said before, this is not how CheatPunch works. You are fine with using Essentials and CheatPunch at once. I simply forgot to mention the status on this.

Before this spam ^^ posted above me for laughable game hax gets removed, I just want to say anyone who pays for game cheats from someone who does their business through a gmail address is on a fast train to getting what they deserve. As far as the false teleport bans go, it's just another in a long string of pathetic excuses from people who have been caught cheating. Over 5000 bans and counting and so far I haven't seen a single person who provided proof that Cheatpunch has handed out any unfair bans. If people were getting banned for admin teleports you'd be hearing about it...en masse from the server admins. All I hear are the tears of cheaters.
