What are your thoughts on randomly generated maps?

Procedural map generation is on their Trello for some time now but I haven't seen a discussion concerning this on this forum.

It's been said by Garry for some time now that the current map is just a placeholder and that the real map is going to be 10 times bigger. I had in my mind that Rust would always have only one map but judging from this stuff on their Trello, maybe we will have the possibility to have more than a map on the future? Or is that their work in order to generate the new and permanent map? Personally, if they generate more than a map, I just fear that with this feature, every server you log in you would have to put much effort to learn the map and also find your friends with that. But I am speculating, of course. I have no idea what they are planning and I am just curious to know what the community thinks about this situation.

What are your thoughts?

Search is wonky, click the search button at the top (don't use the search bar) and then click the single search tab, make sure the Rust forum is selected.
