So I have been playing rust sense it first came on the steam market, and I have to say I've been extremely happy with that decision ever sense. Granted I was pretty sceptical when they said "hey we are not updating rust any more we are starting over from scratch" clearly they knew what they where doing. So sense the dawn of rust while playing I have thought about many things that would be really cool to see in rust so I decided to start this thread on it, so that people like me could talk and discuss what we would enjoy seeing in the future days of rust.

Some of my first ideas where vehicles, or some of transport that you could find blueprints to several different parts of the same vehicle once you made enough of the parts like an engine, four tires, and a frame you would stand outside place the frame down like a foundation attach the wheels and engine and be able to have crude truck. After you built the basics you could attach pieces of wood for protection or metal, maybe find blueprints for heavy armor things to make your vehicle yours and upgrade it like a base or a player. This way you could not only get around faster but you and your friends could ride around together. maybe even add a crate in the back to store more items to be carried. Just like a base or player it can be destroyed or looted, if you where driving and someone shot your tire out you would be forced to get out and either fix it fast or "fix" the guy who shot you metal beauty in the first place. And now that we can have locks we could also lock the vehicle as well.
My only idea is to add some (NPC)bandits, Mad Max style. This zombie crap is played out! I want to roll up on a bandit base(That they built), knock a guy on patrol out with a rock. Take his weapon and murder the rest of his crew. I have the choice to take over the base or strip it for recurses. Heck, maybe even take one as a slave to gather wood for me.
1 Bigfoot per map that roams around and requires at least 10 people to conquer.

Kinda like in the dayz epoch mod roaming A.I. bandits.

I also had an idea for electricity. If we could build/find generators or even build a make shift stationery bike that we could get on and peddle by using the left and right strafe keys to "peddle" the bike we could have it in a base that powers anything attached to the base, that the power supply is on. Like lamps, electronic locks or doors, spotlights, electric furnace, or a crude refrigerator. We could even erect our on wind turbines made from wood and scrap metal or even build solar panels. Have batteries to store electricity not being used or needs to be stored for later use, like lights at night after solar panels charged the batteries during the day.
The AI bandit idea would be great for servers that don't get nearly enough traffic, but I imagine coding an AI for humans would not only result in a mostly bad product for Rust but also would take too much time and resources in general
Rad Factories could be places where higher tier weapons are crafted?
Been thinking about how unlikely it is that you would be able to make an M4 in a wooden box, but has it been discussed that factories could be re-purposed to craft guns and metal building parts?
I like the idea that a group would have to take the factory back from rad animals or whatever enemies they decide to add and then defend it against other players. It should also stay radiated at all times and take a long time to craft the weaponry. It should take a big team effort to get a gun factory up and running.
Obviously blue prints and stuff should be required too.

Not necessarily they would use the player models maybe change them a little use animations and stuff from the player model but give them the AI from the original zombies from legacy except instead of running after to hit them they would shoot at them or chase players if the start to get to far away until they got in range to shoot. And there could also be a variety like ones with spears or handguns etc...

What they need to do is have a variety of the same kind of gun for example the AK have a basic crap model that uses wood some clothe and metal to make a really crude AK it would have a chance of miss firing 1 in every 40 shots and has horrible recoil and no sights. Then you would have the version they have now where it's an AK but with some home made materials to get the job done kind of a mid ground between real deal and the crude version this on dosnt miss fire still some bad recoil has iron sights, this would not require wood but more metal and clothe. And then the real deal looks like an actual AK no homemade parts maybe ducktape around the hand for looks idk, defianetialy has rust and is weathered looking this has little recoil and uses a slightly better sight than iron sight, requires a ton of metal a ton of clothe.

Maybe if they add in my idea for electricity you could build a mill and lathe to craft gun parts then depending on what you could make depends on what kind of state your gun will be in when you put it together maybe you can only make a barrel out of metal and the firing chamber but the rest you only have wood so you build the craps AK for now.

It should be something terrifying something that screeches constantly making spine chilling noises that can be heard from a long ways away, it needs to roam around the whole map and needs to move extremely fast. It needs to be something that when you see it across a field running straight at you, that you are going need a new change of underwear. Something that if you are by yourself even with the best guns, armor, and medical equipment at your disposal you don't stand a chance against it. Something like my ex wife.... I'm just kidding I was never married but yes something like that needs to exist something far scarier than you running into a bandit who is more equipped than you are. Something with bloody claws and gnashing teeth, and much Bigger than a bear.
How about an idea for backpacks you can carry more stuff in your inventory but it would use up an armor slot. Speaking of armor, the different pieces should have buffs and penalties like for instance shoes. people might run around barefoot in game but how many people would "run" barefoot in real life through the woods? Between sticks and rocks I think at most you would be doing a fast walk. So I think they should make it so if you don't wear shoes you run slower or if you do wear shoes you would run fast than without. Same thing with metal armor why would you be able to run the same speed with or without metal armor? That way people who are just starting could potentially out run a guy who is well armored who kills every one he sees.

If Gary's dev were capable of creating NPC bandits with great artificial intelligence programmed to pressure users and build their own camp settlements. Heck, even become your slave to gather resources...
zombies would have never been crossed out in Rust. Period. It would have been one of the best zombie games ever made.
This is why they got rid of zombies and rad animals except wild animals so they can focus on the AI. Look at the new animals, they're much tougher to hunt(Honestly, its really the running speed that improved difficulty). The dev has been working harder to smooth the AI movement but the intelligence part is still a long road ahead of them.
