Bought Rust, can't play due to horribly written req. on Steam.

I bought Rust last night thinking I may be able to play it. There were no GPU requirements on the Steam store page, so I assumed it would be okay. However I get about 4 frames a second. I know it's still in a pre-alpha stage, but either it needs to be better optimized or the Requirements section NEEDS to include a GPU spec so that people don't waste twenty bucks.

What are your specs?

Everything is passing minus the GPU.
Win7 Pro, i5, 3.30GHz processor. Intel HD Graphics Family (The guy who built my PC was cheap).

It just common sense that would happen

If you have a spare PCI express slot you can get a fairly cheap video card and maybe some ram and you should be able to run RUST.
As well as run all your other games way better.
"Intel HD Graphics Family"
There's your problem. Rust and Intel HD X000 = bad relationship.
However, remember, the game's still quite unoptimized.

This, if you have a PCI express x16 lane, get a graphics card and a new power supply. About $150 spent between both the parts will get you into medium or so playability.
you're using onboard graphics
honestly expect anything?

I didn't have much money when I bought the computer, nor do I now.
Besides, I wasn't asking about what my specs need to be. I was merely saying the spec requirements need to be rewritten or the game needs to be better optimized.

He's not concerned with your reasons for having onboard graphics. He's just telling you not to expect it to do anything for you.
My daughter's computer is a crap 5 yr old HP with a old Nvidia 8600 gts and it runs just fine with low settings and resolution. My advice is to check the yellow pages for a used computer shop in your area or maybe amazon for a dirt cheap old video card if you are broke.
I'm not asking for help with specs
As someone that used to build and sell PC's I can tell you that your friend ripped you off or at least made a quick buck off you at the expense of your naivete.
Do yourself a favor and follow the sound advice of those that recommended you buy a stronger PSU if its under 450W and a pcie x16 graphics card if your MB will support it. GL
The specs are subject to change during alpha, and it's hard to pin down the final specs this early. The game will be optimized over the course of alpha, but it's too early for a lot of that yet.
IMO the OP has a valid point. The system requirements on the store page should be updated. Not everybody knows better. That's why system requirements are listed.

I was in the exact same boat as you. What I did was shoveled snow/borrowed a neighbors lawn mower and mowed their lawn/borrowed a rake and raked leaves. After mowing 10 lawns at 15 bucks a lawn I was able to get a nice graphics card. Hell i'd even send you 5 bucks on paypal to help get you started!
I have 4 Working Great XFX 5750 HD Radeon PCIe I will gladly sell/ship one to you for $25 and u pay S&H. If Interested PM me.

Toxic... My comp is old and slow, but foe some reason, there are servers that I get horrible framerates on and skip graphically when i try and pan around. On my current server, I have no issues with bad frame rates. My suggestion is to try out a few different servers to see if you get any better frames.
Just a suggestion.
Its already common sense to know Intel graphics cant run shit.
