Possible bug: Players named "Blaster :D" who don't have that name

Earlier today a player named "Blaster :D" came up to me. Long story short, I eventually realized this was a guy I knew who's name is not "Blaster :D." Is this some sort of bug? Is "Blaster :D" a placeholder name the game uses if in can't locate the actual player's name?

I hypothesized that if the name contained some illegible characters it would default back to 'Blaster :D'.

I always wondered why people sometimes called me blaster.

In this case, the guys name contained only a few English letters, and I've seen his name show up normally before. Also his character model was different. Name and model became correct when he died, but his new spawn was bugged.

It is a bug and it sucks.....esp when you're in your own base and your buddies kill you before you can press the V key lol
