Now that FPSPlayers has locked things down, are there any hosts left where mod developers can test their work? I've been getting this question a lot, and I don't have an answer. Respond and let me know if you have a host where you're still able to install your own mods.
I don't know of any at the moment that will allow you to freely install mods without the use of a "mod manager" program from the host...
That's really terrible- for me, it was never about ME developing mods, it was about EVERYBODY developing mods. This really puts me back at square 1, it's like leather was never created.

well, it only really takes one GSP to run the rust server via a user that has no permissions outside of the rust folder, then they can give FTP access.
i believe BMRF give full ftp access to develop mods.
BMRF isn't selling servers to people they don't know anymore, though. I have a BMRF server, but that doesn't help anyone else.
It's true, we're at borderline capacity right now sadly ): I wish more server hosts would follow our example and simply lock down without impacting the end user.
On a slightly better note, we could possibly squeeze in a few 5~10 slot servers for mod developers, but you'll have to show you'll actually use it for actual development, these in some cases will be free of cost if your project is "special" enough.
