hello, sorry my english, Upgrade System: keeping the "new" construction system in Experimental branch, you can upgrade your existing wall using different materials don't need demolish a wood wall to make a metal wall, you only need upgrade it: this system can be used in wood doors to make metal doors too http://postimg.org/image/isihra68t/ Floors limit: You can not make than more 3 floors for each material, you can build 6 floors house but you need use stone or metal in first floors: this method is to avoid gigantic constructions in game causing drop frame, with new defensive future features (bear trap, spikes, etc...) is no longer necessary to defend your home using only floors. thats a pretty good construction system I liked it a lot
Thanks!
Great ideas, i like, except for the 9 floors limit.
possibly already being explored. the trello shows different levels of reinforcement in building in the concept art section:) but great idea either way.
I like the idea of being able to bang some scrap metal to the side of a wooden wall to "upgrade" it without building a while new wall. I'd also like to see some construction though that would be a different part as you're filling the original came with something else, maybe even clay. This would be useful for building in different biomes that may lack wood.
I like the idea of adding restraint to the height of a building but think a soft cap might be a better idea (or even a combination idea. Something that requires a wider base for taller structures. So with a 2x2 foundation you could go upto like 6 floors. 3X3 up to nine. something like that. Or somehow factor in base to height ratio and like for every 2x2 foundation base you can build 6 up with normal decap and any floors above that gain addition decay rates the higher it goes. 3x3 foundations and 9 floors get normal decay. everything above that decays faster and faster. So on. More complex but allows for development and upkeep, and building restrictions based on the areas you are building in.

I approve of the upgrading system a lot! I would love the implemented if it isn't already on their list, I know something similar to it is. But the floor limitation, seems a little bit off, but close, I kind of get it.
LIKE! PUSH!
The greatest thing about Rust is the freedom of all the crazy or not crazy things you can do and all the possibilities for building, crafting, settle and living your live. Just take a look at the community updates. I think a limitation of floors would cut that freedom. Especially if even limited to three floors (or 9 total) What I like is the idea, that some materials are more stable than others, so you can build higher.
The Idea is nice but i dont like the "limits"
limits are the problem for me as well. currently you can build more or less whatever you can imagine with the pieces you have. even more so with the newer form of building if it continues down the "can snap to place or be placed however" route, as buildings will be more incredible and odd. i don't like the idea of stopping players from making towers to the sky and jumping from them, or making giant metal penis gods. it limits the potential for gameplay, and reduced rust into PURELY a KOS FPS game. as i said previously, if you check out the trello, it looks like they were debating the idea of upgradable walls etc, and they have previously looked at going primitive>wood>stone. and i am very much for this idea;)
I like the idea of adding restraint to the height of a building but think a soft cap might be a better idea (or even a combination idea.
