Is it possible for other players to take your name? If that is possible, why?
I've seen another player claiming to be me.
When I logged in I saw that another player had taken my name; Cookie (Not SxG or anything like that, just Cookie)
Is there not a prompt that prevents you from selecting an already used name?
I play on EU - Central Europe by PlayRust.EU.

Then what's the point in having names?
I have had a player take my friends name and trick me to let him in my base like a noob!
Morely for deception purposes, say I met you irl and told you my name was john when yours was too. Doesn't mean it's true, it's basically a sneaky thing.
this will change today/tomorrow when the games goes to steam. You will have your steam's name. So I think no one will be able to change names after rust is moved.(I hope)

Today? Tomorrow? The post says "this week," not a specific date.
