With the new update to nametags, admins can no longer hide their names by using unreadable characters. Admins do not have much tools at their disposal, we used to have to circumvent the nametag feature (my user was "ʜᴇɪṡᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ" and prior to the update, the name did not show when moused over), but now it is impossible to stealth.
Along with footsteps (why is this still here), it makes spectating hackers and cheaters even more difficult to achieve. Why do you do this to us, FacePunch? It's like you don't want us to moderate our servers effectively.
Or let us abuse our rights effectively.
Essentials has a vanish feature that makes your name invisible.

Indeed it does. Essentials for the win

Oxide QQ
I agree with OP 100% this needs to be fixed asap
at this point in the alpha i think its needed. since hacks work better its getting harder to catch them. i would prefer just to "first person spectate" people. but yeah, you know what will happen then. paranoia all over the place and crying "admin abuse". Its every time the same story.
how should i follow one flying guy? i cant even read his damn name :/
there will be more people having fun with hacks. and all fair players start to quit the game
Same with bans and other admin tools.
It's impossible to manage your server normally with these tools.
Banlist is most annoying.
This is more about the mods like oxide, rust++ not being updated yet on their mods.
It would be hell easier if the devs of Rust would finally disable hackers showing me
even when I'm invisible with ESP-hack and it would be alot more easier to check people griefing without nametags/footsteps so yes. If you can't find a normal server where admins are not abusing you then don't let other or rather legit admins get punished who are fighting against unfair players/hackers.
