• Drones/quadcopters in Rust?

What if players could control drones in Rust? It would be cool if the player had FPV so they could scout the area and/or drop and up packages from other players. You could also allow players to add weapons but this might be OP. It should also be easy to shoot these things down so other players can repair/use them, and steal any stuff the drones might be transporting. EDIT: You could also limit supply by only having drones drop.
hmmm..
That seems way too complex for a world like Rust imo. Either way, I think it is a later feature...
Some kind of UAV hacked together from an old surveillance camera, a car battery, scrap 2.4 GHz modules, a monitor and a big glider made of wood? If you throw it from a mountain it could be in the air for quite some time. I'd love it.
How the hell are you supposed to build complex tech in the Rust world? No.
Maybe they should put in perks as well and then it would be like call of duty. I mean my mom gets violated all the time already so it won't be a major problem.

Car battery is hella heavy, as is wood for the most part...I have to assume this was a joke...it just has to be...
I don't know about drones because that implies complex computer technology, but I can see homemade helicopters. I'll put this right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynXadWVcVMU

I mean I have red bears and wolves all around my house, I can carry shitloads of rock and stone and wood and still run forever, that's absolutely real life. How dare I suggest putting a car battery on wood and have it fly!

I guess most of the people know the Film Aliens I heard in rust will be Electricity How about a Sonar that works about 100m around youre base Its not OP but it tells you there is something outside. Yeah! No? pls Reply
No
any argument why "no"?
;45496696']any argument why "no"?
i can probably help there. one of the greatest dangers in rust is not knowing where other players are. you need to keep your eyes open. its inadvisable to run around in the dark with a torch out unless you want to be attacked. and lowtech is the base tech level of everyone, even though we can find kevlar armour and machine guns (which are being rebalanced). we don't have waypoints, or an inbuilt hud showing us where we are, or where our friends are. even if they introduce electricity, i don't think it will fit for us to be adept enough to create a short range radar/sonar system from metal frags and bits of wood. we're talking circuit boards and stable electricity feed, engineering knowledge and a decent understanding of how a radar/sonar device works. not to mention that it would encourage camping at home waiting for people to try and raid, and sniping them from the rooftops. i would not like to see this introduced in rust, even if it might be a worthwhile idea for another game.

Hundreds of hours of splinter cell on the original Xbox taught me to avoid light like the plague. I knew holding a torch or a flashlight at night was a bad idea before I even had the game. Yet soooooo many people still do it. Not just new spawns either. I had a (former) buddy who was running around alone at night with Kevlar and an M4 with a flashlight on. An M4 that had one slot on it and he put on a fucking flashlight... *sigh* Every Rust server needs a therapist. Someone who hangs out up in the mountains who you can visit and vent all your problems too. Then he tells you everything is going to be okay and gives you a chocolate bar and a chicken breast. That sounds really great right about now.

What if we could have tanks? You could build them out of wood planks, metal fragments, cloth and raw chicken and they could roll around for 2 hours on some low-grade fuel. Then we could have Tank Wars! Ooh ooh, what if we could build fighter jets from tuna cans, animal fat and sheets of paper? Air combat and bombing runs on big houses? And when someone locked on to you with a missile you could throw a flare! zomg so awesome! But planes are kind of high tech, so I think to make it fair you would need to build *two* workbenches. Right?
But planes are kind of high tech, so I think to make it fair you would need to build *two* workbenches. Right?
And at least two players, no plane has ever been built by one single man!
And at least two players, no plane has ever been built by one single man!
A little Girl in Metal Gear Rising built a plane alone :D Mythbusted.
;45505099']Blue prints son :)
here ya go:) now make it with a rock and some salvaged metal fragments.
I don't see what the big deal is. We have metal, wood, and I can rub two pieces of bear skin together to create static electricity. Why exactly can't I build a Tesla Cannon if I had the blueprints?
Maybe a kite with a mirror, that would be about as high tech as i'd like to see ;)

Also, see the the movie "Flight of the Phoenix" :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_of_the_Phoenix_(2004_film)
We already have a large cargo plane, not sure why it would be impossible.
I just hope some type of vehicles are implemented, especially if the map size is increasing. As for drones, I personally have to disagree. Unless you could find rare parts, and then put them together for a short-lived power weapon for base sieges, I wouldn't really want to see them.
I would settle for a bicycle at this point lol
Player flown gliders would be far more realistic, they could take aim from the sky as well.
