as we were building our house, we devised a way to avoid having lots of doorway (show below in screenie). The fifth pillar we used for some reason bugs out the ceiling part and it doesn't let it settle. At any rate, it shouldn't matter since a fifth pillar should work as extra support. Just an observation, we'll have to figure it out.

Heh. I guess ur pretty new to this game, but if you put a fifth pillar (pillar in the middle of the foundation) you cannot place a ceiling over it. People like to do this to grief the builder, but you griefed urself ;)
This is quite intentional. It's also used to STOP griefing. Don't want griefers to put a ceiling up and seal you off? Put a pillar in the middle.
