• Graphical Stuttering/Freezing

I,ve had this problem since the start of the alpha, i'd really appreciate if anyone could lend me a hand or point me in the right direction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=mqqlNvoZHwE
My game is just a lagging mess, and when its fine for a few minutes, this is what it will start doing.
What is your CPU/GPU/RAM/OS?
What is your CPU/GPU/RAM/OS?
I have my own post on the forum, it was posted earlier but no one responded. I don't wanna be a bother on this post and talk about my problems. If you could go over to mine it would be great. The link is http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1326647 .... Sorry if its not allowed to post a link to another post on the forum, I am a newbie. x)
If your using OSX mac is broke :(.
Same exact thing is happening for me, but it lasts for much longer. Honestly, it's going to take my a while to get all that information Helk asked for since im not a tech guy and not even sure where to find those lol xD EDIT: Found them xD please help us Helk/Garry! :) Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60 GHz 2.60 GHz RAM: 6 GB System Type: 64-Bit Operating system Heck, im not a tech geek but im pretty sure that these are some good specs, so im not sure why its causing this graphical stuttering, even when the game runs very smooth.
Just to add to this post, I seem to have the same problem as OP. The game itself does not lag at all but I get these same stutters every so often. They even occur with me just standing in one spot and not doing anything (i.e. looking at one point). Day or night it does not matter. It's not gamebreaking in any case however the annoying thing is when your running away or chasing and the stutter results in you doing nothing for 1-2 secs1. I have played around with the graphics options as well but to no luck. My specs are as follows: Laptop CPU: Intel Core i7-3630QM (2.4ghz) GPU: Geforce GT 650M RAM: 8gb OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit [editline]19th November 2013[/editline]
Same exact thing is happening for me, but it lasts for much longer. A new window will appear and the system tab contains most of the req info (CPU,RAM,OS) and display tab has the GPU specs

Bump (Sorry for bumping constantly, just want to get some help on this)
Dev branch or opt out?
I have used both. Went from opt out (few days) to dev branch (few days) to opt out again just today due to not being able to connect to servers.
Yeah idk. Just keep in mind it's early alpha. Us Linux and Mac users are stuck not being able to play at all. We just gotta be patient, and wait for Garry to weave his magic.
humbly waits :)
Does the client still use the onboard GPU? If so, most if not all laptops have an onboard GPU. Could be the cause? Then again, I have no idea. Just taking a shot in the dark.
I had these problems in DEV build..
Just wondering if any of the dev's can comment, as it is becoming somewhat annoying that I can't even run away from people attacking me due to this stuttering.
Same here, and I honestly doubt Garry gives a rat's ass about our problem anyways. [editline]23rd November 2013[/editline] As long as we pay him the $20 he doesn't care.
I think its more along the lines that he's quite busy ;)
True...quite busy making more problems rather then fixing.
Don't worry this is still alpha, on full release i'm sure we won't have these problems. Patience is a virtue ^^
Probably, is there any news on when full game will be released?
Yeah I been having this problem since i bought the game back in early October. It's the only thing keeping me from playing this game. I keep on hoping it'll be fixed with the release on steam but I'm having my doubts....
I too have really shit fps lag . Computer specs : Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB Software OS X 10.8.5 I know it's Mac and it's not very good , but on other games i can still play on medium setting alright ! Now it's just H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E

Have this issue on my desktop, same problem with 2 different video cards. AMD 1090T 12GB Ram Current video card R9 270X, Old card = Nvidia GTX 560. Both had this problem. Win 7 Premium Overclocking to 4.0Ghz (I can't go higher on this mobo) didn't change anything but FPS marginally. It still does this weird stutter/freeze with no impact. Render quality settings do NOT change anything. I've noticed it happens when the client renders the new buildings/objects in the map as you're running or looking around. I can understand the increased load for having to render new objects/physics. I don't understand why it doesn't happen over multiple frames. It looks like it tries to render all the new objects in one frame and halts rendering new frames until that operation is done.
help!Garry! Help us! I have the same problem !

I can report the same problem, appeared since the last patch, maybe the one before. Again its not game breaking but can get you killed in a fight or while walking over hills, and is quite annoying. The sound also "lags" giving me a heart attack when gathering as it sounds like I'm being attacked. Tried US/EU and Aussie servers, all run smoothly, apart from the periodic stutter. Number of buildings or direction doesn't affect it. i5, 8g ram, nvidia 560ti, windows 7 64 bit.
Today i launched rust and had 20-25 fps , a couple of minutes later i get this HUGE fps drop , so i restart my computer clean it out using 'Mac Keeper' and the fps is still low after all the possible things i could think of...
bump - (trying to get some comments from dev's if possible)
