Hi guys,
don't know where to post so i try it here. We where recently playing on a community server and
had an issue where we found huge Stacks of stuff in chests and even inventory of a player.
We asked him how he got a stack of 6k wood, he said that he found it. 2 days later we raided his house
and there where huge stack everywhere 16k metal fragments 40k stone and so on. Here is my Question:
Is it a feature? Admin Abuse? Exploit? Cheat? After we raided this guy we stopped playing on this server
cause this is just ridiculous.

No its not dev branch, don't even know how to get there, was a german community server but the stacks where looking equal to that in the link but odd numbers maybe it got split several times, don't know.
Maybe the Admin gave it to him.
recently found a player on my server with 2 9mil stacks.
he didn't fuss when he came back and found it gone along with his 32 story tower, he just left again :D
On some modded servers the stack count can be increased, sometimes rewards are given out in air drops like a 50k stack of stone for example.
But this is only on modded servers
The server I play on is roughly 175 wood per chop, and 710 stone per pick.
It takes me a day to get 300k stone. Well, an hour really.
It depends on the server.

Admin can spawn large stack of every items in the game, including items that dont normally stack.
If it wasnt a mod server, the only explanation is admin abuse. When an admin cheat and use his admin status to spawn items for himself or his friends. there is no known hack to stack items larger than the max stack.
If it's a vanilla server, then the items were admin spawned. If this person isn't an admin, then how he got them could vary.
Perhaps he killed an admin who had the stuff on him or raided an admin's base. I've done both and found giant stacks of stuff. Or maybe the admin gave it to him (bad).
Personally as a server admin, I ensure that nothing I spawn ever gets in the hands of other players. And I don't use any items I spawned for my own base, store them in my base or for use against other players. I only spawn in stuff when doing test builds (usually in a remote part of the world or on an iceberg). When I do that, I'll also switch on god mode to ensure that I can't be killed and my stuff taken. When I'm done, I destroy whatever I've built (either with copious amounts of spawned C4 or my hammer) and dispose of any leftover stuff I spawned by dropping it in the ocean where it can't be reached.
