What do YOU guys think should be in a new map?
Toilets.
Haha anyone else want to help out? [editline]13th April 2014[/editline] Cmon, someone, you guys have good ideas [editline]13th April 2014[/editline] I suggest more Rad Zones, Moving water, lakes, natural disasters, and water that isnt an instant death
You basically suggest another engine... Oooh, sorry. You must be new here. Still hoping for Garry to do SHIT
Different regions with different threat levels and different rewards so that noobs start in a safe area but as you advance you will want to migrate and build bases in more difficult areas.

I like to see maybe two Versions of the World. A Big and a Small World. So Official Servers for example have the Big Map. Or just Different Types of Map. SO every Server can choose a Kind of Map.
I'd like to see resource specialization zones. For example, having to find a forest to harvest wood, or a spot in the hills to get ores, and wildlife frolicking on the plains. Leads to a little more conflict, but it's also a bit more realistic...

You start off in an area that has slow and stupid creatures (a lot like it does now) with a general area for exploration, challenge, farming, ect... but as you gain footing in this area you can venture into higher risk areas with stronger, faster, (different) better - loot creatures and an all around 'more harsh' landscape. Eventually leading to a brutal area with very high risk, very high reward, and the challenge never stops... At least that's my dream for the upgraded map/play area.
You basically suggest another engine... Oooh, sorry. You must be new here. Still hoping for Garry to do SHIT
Idiot. If you've no idea the changes and overall direction the developers are exploring, what need do you have to call someone else "new". They've been working on procedural map generation already and were toying with the idea. It's also been stated by the developers that Admins should have a high level of control over their server's map. I'm sure you already knew this though.. being the experienced individual that you are.
Caves and abandoned mines with an underground web of tunnels. Some special creatures, who live in those caves and can not be found on the surface. More european and more northern landscape. Dark and dense woods. Great ruins, not those few houses, perhaps skyscraper ruins or ruins of some recognizable buildings and monuments. A map with a more distinct regions: snow covered territory, woods, desert. Different soil and vegetation in different sectors of the map. Unique landmarks: a crashed plane sceleton, a destoyed tank, a crater, old statue, mutant tree, graves, something like this. Bunker enterances scattered around the map.
OHHH i like everyones ideas from bunkers, caves, to vegetaion and harder loot with more challenges, hopefully one of the developers reads this and takes it in to cosideration

I've been playing since this game was on a browser. Keep stroking devs cocks, I don't know where this is leading to. But it's going down fast. A new update with massive new content is their only hope. But sure, call me an idiot and going all optimistic. atm this game is no longer a survival, it's a full loot pvp game.
Well the new procedurally generated maps will have everything the current map has now. This would be a perfect time to remove radiation towns and add a new loot dispersion mechanic but I wouldn't expect it.
I want snow!

They clearly said that the game is in alpha and it was only 10% done or less. If you are so smart to use that language you should be smart enough to understand what the devs have to do in order to toss some new content. This is a STEAM game. Your game will always be there ( unless you get vac banned ofc). You can always check rust in a few weeks or a month and see the work done. Rust is still in heavy devlopment no matter what you think. Anyone here with a basic knowledge of programming knows how TIME CONSUMING is to rework almost everything from scratch. It's not "hard" but its very, VERY time consuming. They CANT toss any new content until they finish their current process. I'm 100% sure they would love to just push new monsters, tools, itens etc but they simply cannot. Just chill. I guess most players are still dont understand the meaning of early dev o early alpha. THIS is where they make the massivet tests, changes and alterations to the game core. I'm sure as soon as they finish those stuff they are going full power on the "web toolkit" (its awesome btw). I dont know about you but garry and his team may take some time but they always end up doing their work. I'll still believe in their words, promisses and will only say this game is "good or bad" when i see the finished version of it. ========= Back to topic : ( Sorry ) - Biomes !!!! diff biomes is somenthing that always worked on open survival games. I know this is going to piss some people off but you can look at minecraft map generation and even though the i dont like the game i can must confess that the map generation is pretty good. - More types of trees, grass and pretty much everything. Maybe matching the biome. - More SOUNDS. One of the things we lack in rust is sounds. Better footsteps, animal sounds, environment sounds. Oh god environment sounds.. - Less giant mountains and more "mines" and natural places like a waterfall or a river. This game has so much potential and they got a long road ahead but honetly.. i can wait and i cant wait as well to see how the "rust book" is going to be.

I'm sorry but if you lack the capabilities to gather simple, free, accurate information and in the same breath accuse someone of not being able to do the same (which in the current thread his information and question were based on real/accurate details) then you sir/ma'm are an idiot. My facts are straight and I don't see how long you've played this game have anything to do with it. Perhaps your sentencing structures are just childish and I was supposed to understand. "Stroking" devs. Lmao. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the ones constantly ridiculing the developers for their poor choices and overall lazy implementation (or lack) of game mechanic/features that should have been rolled out AGES ago. I find it simply amazing how many people do not know the purpose behind an Alpha Testing Phase. A new update is the inevitable future of any Alpha/Beta game. That's where it's leading to and the only thing that would continue to drag this game down is continued bad choices. Without the details of this next update it's impossible to know. It has nothing to do with any level of optimistic behavior but facts regarding every Alpha/Beta game before this. Without a fulfilling update any progress this game had to hope for will be diminished every moment afterwards while people try to adjust. I will agree that this game is in no way a Survival Game though. It's clearly a Lottery/Loot/PVP Game. That however is no where near new information. I'm sure a well informed and educated individual such as yourself has known this all along though.
