• Lagging in Rust - Need Help

I just bought Rust today because it looked like such a fun game. I didn't think anything about the specs as I have run other games fine. As soon as I started playing the FPS was unplayable. I lowered all the settings and still was only getting 10 FPS. I have searched all over and can't find a fix for this. I was wondering if it's my computer or just Rust itself since its in Alpha. Here are my specs Intel i7-4700MQ 2.40 GHz 16 GB of ram GeForce GT 740M and Intel HD Graphics 4600 Let me know if my computer can't handle it or if there is something I can do to fix this.
Your Mobile GPU is likely overheating.
Your Mobile GPU is likely overheating.
How would I got about fixing that?
Blow on it.
winner for reference to basically every console system from the 80's.
Make sure Rust is using your 740M and not the Intel HD. Set the 740M as the default graphics adapter.

You should be able to right-click on the desktop to set the default adapter, but otherwise, yes, it'd be in the Nvidia CP.

The 740M isn't an incredibly powerful graphics card, and Rust has optimization issues at the moment. I don't expect that you're going to get to play it at high settings @ 60fps, but it should improve over the current state to some level over time.
I have been getting this crappy fps on fastest though [editline]1st June 2015[/editline]
The 740M isn't an incredibly powerful graphics card, and Rust has optimization issues at the moment.
