I returned to the server i was playing on and i found myself with the basic tools in the middle of nowhere. I had a home which i put a lot of time in..wtf happened to it-_-?
Somebody broke in and killed you. He probably took all your best stuff, too. Maybe he even took over your base. That or it got a few walls/doors missing.

If you're not aware, when you sleep, your body is on the ground, able to be killed. You are not safe, even in a house, if someone can get in.
Don't feel too bad, because at this stage of the game, it's just as likely that the next patch will require a full wipe and restart of all map and player data as not, so you may have to lose everything repeatedly just from the updating and development process. If players help this process along by finding their way in and killing you while you're offline, that's just more of the same.
Pick up and start again. Rust will become more sophisticated, as far as building defenses and such, over time.
