What about the solo players?
Not everyone likes to be in a huge group. Some people like to live in the woods alone. The problem is, once you leave your home its defenseless.
What if you could gain the trust of a wolf?
Feed it, or try to catch it with a trap. If you solo, this would give you a chance to leave and gather while the animal guards the home. You could have yourself three or four wolfs guarding your home. This would help against a small group of bandits trying to rape you. They also would help fight agents other animals and help hunt them too.
How do you feel about this?

I would like to feed my wolf the fleshy buttocks of my fallen foes.
i really like the idea.. i really enjoy playing by myself in rust.. feels more.. idk challenging and fun. playing with max 2 or 3 friends more its fun too big groups are kinda stressing
Then you could take it to the Rad area let it get affected by the Radiation causing it to mutate and grow larger, large enough to eventually be used as a mount.
Would be a damn awesome feature if you ask me.. :D
been suggested before, and mostly seemed to be written off.
personally wouldn't mind the idea, but would hate to see it become some kind of mega-wolf that has more hp than a normal one. it should be easily killed like a standard wolf, the only difference being its loyalty, and maybe needing to feed it/it hunting when it gets hungry.
and after all, we are getting horses, so taming may well become a thing in general.
