• Anyone else experience eye strain / headaches when playing Rust (and not other games)

Just curious if it's only me. I can spend hours and hours playing any other game but with Rust I start feeling it almost immediately. Hopefully we'll be able to change the head bob and extremely narrow FOV later on in the game's development, which I'm sure is the cause of the problems. /rant
I've never experienced any of these issues, but they aren't things I find to be too troublesome in other games either. However, I have a friend who absolutely refused to play games in the STALKER series because of the head bob, and he plays Rust and has never once even mentioned it. Fairly certain everyone wants to be able to adjust the FOV though.
I don't have any problems playing for long periods of time, but the headbob does annoy the crap out of me. I remember my first day playing Minecraft back in 2010. I would've quit within the first few minutes if it weren't for me finding the headbob option to disable it. I guess it's not as bad in Rust or I got used to it or something. It's like not seeing your nose or knowing you're breathing manually. It's not annoying if your brain filters it, but once you notice it...
maybe screen is too bright, what is ur brightness value?
I know a few guys with the exact same problem. They never had it before but now they tell somethings wrong like 5-10 minutes in.
yeah i normally struggle with headbob and motion sickness, but rust has been fine for me. i did notice feeling a little green just recently but I put it down to my 20 storey tower and the spiralling path i have to take to get up and down! i think there is some FOV bug, though. When I first zoom my shotgun the fov tightens slightly in unzoomed view. a tight fov can increase motion sickness.
I do not and I play for hours and hours at a time. No issues at all. Except, this, I actually get vertigo when my toon is up high, kinda creepy.
Good god... What your getting is your body saying stop doing this! Listen to it.
Exposure to bright light or straining to see in dim light can cause eye fatigue. One of the most common causes of eye fatigue is staring for long periods at digital devices such as: computer screens smartphones video games Eye fatigue is associated with headaches or with eye problems such as: discomfort double vision significant change in vision Sore or irritated eyes Difficulty focusing Dry or watery eyes Blurred or double vision Increased sensitivity to light Pain in the neck, shoulders, or back
For your health stop playing for so long. I can not imagin your physical health
I have the same problem as the OP, running at 1920x1080. The new sky seems to have made things worse, and it now gives me motion sickness instantly. It is unplayable for me. This is the first time I have experienced motion sickness from a video game. This "head bobbing" seems roughly equivalent to being on a small boat during a hurricane, while chugging hard liquor and jumping on a trampoline.
I had issues with head bob in Dayz, I noticed with Rust it was easy to tune-out the head bob by focusing on a distant object (maybe this will help you). As for other issues, I cannot play for more than a couple hours at a time. I have experienced extreme headaches that seem to be caused by Rust, of course this is my own issue and don't hold anything against the game for it.
You probably feel it because your eye is constantly scanning for threats, Try to loosen up
if its a FOV issue, start your game in windowed mode and expand its horizontal size
It's really a fov issue. This was already mentionted in here and devs are already looking on it. I have to rest my sight every 20-30 min because the game fov is kinda messed up as OP mentioned. PS: It's because i have an eye condition and OP problably has the same issue :P.

No head aches on this game. I do have some on DayZ though but it was all fixed when i turned down the bloom.

If you notice everything flickers, trees grass I can see them flicking but beams and building NO. The changed something in the texture when they made the sky pretty and I hope they fix it. Icon58
We are all being brainwashed while playing rust by Garry I KNEW IT!!!

This and Eve online are the only games that have been able to do this to me.
I only play games like this with full loot. Panic attacks fade with time. Although I do agree with OP, there are 3 of us that I play with including me, that get sick playing rust. I get it immediately and it goes away the longer I play. But I still dont like it.
try gaming glasses
try gaming glasses
I actually had my eyes checked and they are perfect still. I play a lot of games without this problem. I think my issue is the head bob makes me motion sick almost like VR goggles.

It's like living with RL tunnel vision, you can't see anything around you only straight ahead in the far distance. Weird! Cannot believe they have not fixed this juvenile stuff yet...
