How do you Predict the Final Version of Rust will be?

Will it be a completely different game? or will it be fairly the same? Will it be about ghost? Aliens? just kidding, but seriously, let me know what you guys think. I have never been part of a game this early on. Infact, its my first purchase of an alpha game so I have no idea how these things usually go. Do the games end up fairly the same or change drastically?
i think 1 year from now rust will be so popular that it will contest games like dota 2, LoL, and call of duty. If you have read the plans, you would know what im talking about....
For starters, you will eventually be able to run power in your home.

Uh... Completely different genres. How is a game like Rust going to be any competition for games made for eSports? It would have made more sense to say "games like DayZ, L4D and 7 Days to Die".

Running power would be interesting. I certainly hope that they expand and detail the world more. Like, it would be amazing if they add bodies of water (implement thirst into the game and fishing). swamps, deserts, and caves would be pretty awesome as well.

For example, me and my group of buddies used to play Dota 2 30 hours a week since it was the only enjoyable game (in our opinions) on the market. Rust came out and offered a unique pvp experience, we havnt logged onto dota 2 in 3 weeks. similar to the way Dota 1 introduced a unique pvp experience.
Games are not like real life sports, people hop around all the time.

I understand what you mean..I agree that this game will become very popular and be among the top played games..But you can't say that this game will "contest" games like dota and LoL. Rust is hardly a threat at all to those games.. or games like it (bred specifically for competitive play). The way you worded your first reply makes it seem as if Rust is going to push those games out of the market.

Dude millions will want to watch some guy, naked, pissing himself in fear in the middle of a rocky cliff for hours on end.
I hope for biomes and weather patterns.
The game will have major overhauls. But I expect to see different maps. possibly a world map with many different biome type in it. I do expect there to be a fishing mechanic added. though I am not too sure if thirst would be a good thing. yes the survival would become harder but then they would have to make you use an inventory slot for water. i do hope to see item swapping in menu, so you can drag an item onto your quick bar and it would trade places with an existing one. also a scroll wheel function for your quick bar.

Island revamp is coming, and is on the to-so list.

Trebuchets? Cannon? Space-shuttles? Orbital bombardment? Female avatars?
i know what i hope it is...
but my guess is that it's not gonna be that.
and if the OP is actually quoting COD in his post as a "target"...
then this game, if it caters to the casual codbois... will be a trainwreck.
Peace

One day Garry will make the mistake of reading every thread in this forum and quit development in favor of fishmongering out of disgust. The current release at that time will be the final version of Rust.
It is difficult to predict when this will occur.
It will be awesome.
i think it will become a good game with lots of players and with tons of continent!
I hope the game to have a kind of Fallout / Stalker atmosphere, with mutants and handmade weapons / clothes.
I'd like to see random events like the aidrop. Something like a mutant boss maybe roaming the map and forcing player to cooperate for a moment.

that's like the bear for two noobs -- one runs in circles aggro'ing the bear while the other beats it with a rock. lol
Mad Max onrine. With Stalker elements.
It will be glorious.
