• Rust feels kinda ruined after steam release.

I know everyone's about to start hating on me but I've been playing rust for a long time now and now that the official release came out there's people everywhere. I see like 3 deathbags every 5 seconds on roads and I can't even run around and get supplies without noobs hitting me with rocks. It just doesn't feel the same now that rust is filled with 10 and 11 year olds complaning about seeing dicks in the game. I posted this thread to see if anyone feels the same way?
Now you know how the old players felt when the june/july people came into the game. Enjoy.
What, you didn't want them to release the game? Rather not sell keys so you can play by yourself? I'm guessing this is the first game your rode through a Steam release. We are in a state of flux, things will normalize in a week or two. However the game will be constantly evolving and changing, especially at this early state.
I dont feel that way at all, its been just fine with me

You can't go anywhere without running into noobs hitting you with rocks and complaining about seeing dicks...

rust was ruined when they introduced private servers.
rust was ruined when they introduced private servers.
It definitely has had a negative impact, although they seem to be fixing a lot of the problems.
You all sound like old men whining about children on the lawn. "In my day there were only three servers and we all had a great time." "I hate change and the new generation of Rust players is not the same as we were. We had respect, these are just some young punks." You got a game in early Alpha (or like myself when it was first offered as early access on Steam but still in Alpha) and you whine about change. The game was always going to change and new players were always going to start joining up. There is a life lesson in here, learn how to adapt to an ever changing world or come off as the old guy who is stuck in his ways. And for the love of God stop whining about private servers, nothing is going to happen so get used to them.
Actually, being a dick & fight it's part of the game... What you expected? Some security and no trouble so you can grow & get all the things in order to kill the others? LOL. This game is based in interaction with other players.. play & think the way to avoid the enemy & counter him.
The idea that people were aight' pre steam release is utter horseshit. It's been KOS since June'ish, and the community, as it were, grew beyond 20 people.

Man, first it was "RELEASE ON STEAM!!!!!!!!!" now it seems like everyone wants something diffrenet just be happy that there are more people to play with and the servers are becoming more populated.
This is not sim tower, sorry you got used to rust on easy mode; welcome to the real game.
Rust was ruined when they introduced Rust.
Now you know how the old players felt when the june/july people came into the game. Enjoy.
pretty much this.

i bought today the game and i feel completly scammed, i thought that there would be SP game...Not always multiplayer where exists pvp and shits...I paid 20 dollars for play on USA servers were i get 300 of lag? Hell no...
Guys, it's early access, we're dealing with alot of players, we're setting up more servers, no pvp servers, and fixing network issues as we go, give us a little bit of time to sort this stuff out it's only been out for like 36 hours! If you're having trouble with PvP try on a no-pvp server at first We're doing the best we can guys, thanks for playing

First it was not enough players, now it's too many players. People will complain no matter what happens. The game is changing. The game is supposed to change. I love early access and beta testing but some people just don't get it.

What a dumbass.
Look, I took every opportunity I had, when people were complaining about the private servers, to say - just wait until after Steam release. We'll need those private servers then. And guess what? If it weren't for the private servers now we'd be so overrun that most of us wouldn't even be able to get in to play. So believe me now when I tell you that in a week or two, the newness will die down and we'll get back to a more normal playerbase flow like we had when keys were on auction. But the game will change, the game should change, the game is supposed to change. Embrace the change. Change is good... :quagmire:
The irony is, most of the so called "old" players are complaining about private servers killing the game because no servers are full.

Most of these players will get raided and quit within a week
It adds a whole new diamention to the game and more difficult, where as before you could just walk round for hours and not see one player and have loads of resources on you knowing that you were relatively ok. Now you have to be carful where you go fight for resources and be alot more vigilante, this game is going to change alot ive been playing it for 4 - 5 months now and soo much has changed for the better wont be long untill it changes all over again
Guys, it's an alpha. You all cry fist about the empty servers and now there are many players and now you cry again. Guys, please.. my god.
been playing for 24 hrs. i have a full base with modded m4s and i kill anyone that comes near my base. dont understand why ppl are complaining. my first day of rust went just fine and i think this game is amazing for alpha. but complainers will complain. my guess is all the complainers are the community from WarZ... i play on a private server and its about half full. i had no problems getting started and now im the big dick on my "block"
rust was ruined when they introduced private servers.
I agree. While the official servers were already super full, private servers have made it worse (not just the super long server list that takes forever to load in the browser). How many stories have we read here on the forums of badmins abusing their powers against others, admins who aren't banning those that dupe, admins who give themselves every item in the game whilst the others struggle to maintain a base, etc. I think either we need to get rid of private servers, or reduce the price of a private server so people can have a more fair chance at hosting their own server and hopefully they'll host it as an admin should; ban cheaters, don't abuse powers, etc.
first off just find a new server then thats easy... and we pay $20 a month for our server. thats $10 a person (me and my buddy) each. thats a very low price when you look at other games that you spend $50 for a 50 man server (because its $.99 a slot)
We are in a state of flux, things will normalize in a week or two
you are not even a dev so why the hell are you saying we are in a state of flux
