dev branch, new UI - Linux. Nothing in crafting menu.
8 replies, posted
Every part of the crafting tab I click on is empty. I tried gathering some wood and stone, but still nothing shows up.
Hopefully this is either just for me, or if not perhaps me pointing it out will stop this carrying over into when it's released on main.
No blueprints assigned to new spawn for some reason?
Another thing - the servers don't show up in the server list, but when I hover over where they should be I hear a click - this let me figure out where they were to click on them.
I tried the same thing in BP tab, but no success.
Any screenshots? Output logs? Console errors?
I tried clicking everything in the top right...have also tried this with stuff in inventory.

Any errors?

Hang on, I opted back into the main branch, I'll switch back and check now.
I talked to one other (I think) Linux player and he said the UI for crafting was there, but it was almost invisible.

OK, so when I logged on this time, I was able to see the servers in the list and didn't have to click blind. Crafting menu is the same though.
Console reports nothing.
when I cat Player.log, I get a file 11012 lines long that seems to be mostly made up of this kind of thing (this is the end of the file)

Also, the new UI is looking good, but above and beyond that it handles 100% better from what I've seen of moving stuff around the inventory. No lag where you need to drag the same item over more than once - far far better.
Oh, servers disappeared from the list again after I disconnected. :/ They are still there and I can hear a click when I mouseover, but they disappeared again.

This problem still persists...,
Reading through this thread again, I realise I come across as a bit slow. I had the tab open after posting the OP, and didn't refresh it before I posted the first picture. So when it posted and took me to it, I didn't spot Garry asking for pictures and logs, and the first post I noticed by him was him asking for logs later. I wish I had, I could maybe have got the logs posted (link to full log is in one of the posts (http://a.pomf.se/jlnrne.log), was edited to include it) sooner and stopped this carrying on over into main.
I'll make double sure in future I haven't missed anything when reporting stuff, and put logs/pics in the OP in the first place. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the fix!
This stops mild tensions in my house, as whenever I have to boot into windows, it means the Mrs can't really play on Regnum - I use my desktop as a wifi AP, and when I use windows to do this the connection is shitty and she frequently experiences drops of up to 30 seconds. Very rage inducing when she's trying to PvP. No such problem exists on Linux,
edit: wtf, it was there, then next time I open up crafting menu it wasn't there.
Nothing so annoying as trying to debug something that doesn't behave the same way each time :/
I can confirm that what someone previously said (and the same as the server list was behaving before), in that the icons are there, they are just invisible. I was able to get something to craft. Although it wasn't what I intended to craft...clicking blind.
Further edit: Something I've noticed the windows version does the Linux one doesn't is report how much wood/stone etc you get from something when you hit it. The windows one gets the pop ups in the bottom right, Linux doesn't.

So the gathering status did show up after a bit - and when I checked the crafting tab as it did, that had come back too. It just seems to appear and disappear at random times.
Also voice chat seems to be broken. Every time someone tries to talk to me it just takes the first half second of what they say then loops it until I relog.
Lots of full hang ups too, that require killing the process and take steam down with it.
What gods must I sacrifice to and what should be the sacrifices, to get this working. Someone just tell me.
I'm wondering if frying an egg can be sorta counted as sacrificing a live chicken.
For any Linux users who might have this bookmarked, I found a fix. Reposted from the other thread.
I FIXED IT!
I went and looked at the folders for Mono in Legacy and normal branch. I noticed that they were different, Legacy has in it etc and x86 whereas the normal one has etc and x86_64.
Anyway, I copied the Mono folder over from Legacy to the normal one and it works. Thank fuck for that.
Change directory to where Rust is installed, (for me it is /steam_games/SteamApps/common/Rust) and type "cp -R legacy/rust_Data/Mono/ rust_Data/Mono/"
After this, chat shows up, server list shows up, crafting/blueprints show up...it all finally works.
This fix only works on the dev branch though, not the main branch.
Oh, and going full screen seems to fuck everything back up again.
