• Can we get boobytraps?

one think I like about Minecraft is that string across a doorway with a charge that blows you up. it would be great we could also use a cord or sorts (new item!) with a grenade or C4 or ammo to make various traps in hallways or door frames. cord + C4 - massive damage to structure and KOS anyone in the radius cord + Grenade = some structure damage and KOS if you are on same foundation or something like that cord + Ammo = no structure damage but same ammo damage to player as being shot. pressure plates would also be cool :) Thoughts?
Oh god why. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline]
one think I like about Minecraft
Before the hate once again flows, I shall express my totally worthless opinion. Explosive traps could be fun, IF used properly. I don't think anything more than a bean can grenade trap should exist.
I personally would love booby-trapped wooden boxes or furnaces. I play by myself, a small handful of hours a week and am raided constantly. Having a way protect the solo players would be nice. IMO...
I've been waiting for this sort of stuff in Rust forever now. Raiders need some sort of kick while raiding.
While not quite realistic, how about the ability to coat floors in low grade fuel so that any gunfire/explosions/torches/flares/etc in a certain time frame ignite it? Granted it would most likely spread and take out some or all of a base in the process(or at least the wooden sections).
I'm all for being able to boobytrap structures. Think of the added gameplay! Imagine boobytrapping an abandoned structure, then taunting a nearby player into chasing you. You run into the structure, evade the trap, and hide. The other player follows you in and gets killed ... and you take his loot. Fantastic! Brutal! #rust On top of that, there's the obvious: defense against raiding. This helps on multiple fronts: 1) Raiders now have to consider that once they get inside, there may be traps. 2) Raiders have to spend time / resources dealing with said traps, increasing the cost of the raid. 3) Boobytraps could be made to "burn it down", thus denying raiders their loot. A wide assortment of traps (including boobytraps) would add a massive amount of depth to gameplay, for both solo and team players alike. I believe they're on Garry's long-distance radar but don't quote me on that.
While I like the idea of booby traps, in no way do i see them adding any noticeable defense against raiders. Mainly because they'll just respawn outside.
With the blast radius of C4 being what it is, it would be likely that most traps would be sprung / destroyed by the time raiders got into the building, assuming they're blasting their way in.

Raiders would blow their loot before they even arrived.
