Hello everyone, I am having trouble playing RUST lately due to constant lag spikes. Can someone help me deal with this issue? My computer specs are : MSI GX60 Hitman Edition. AMD Radeon HD 8970M /2GB GDDR5 AMD A10-5750M (2.8 GHz - 3.5 GHz on turbo) DDRIII(L) 8GB RAM Killer E2200 HDD : 750GB / 7200RPM Here is what I have done to try and fix it : I have tried bringing the graphics to the lowest possible, closed skype and all other program I had open, I usually play the game on max resolution but I lowered it to 1366X768 and it stil had lag spikes. I have tried to delete the game and reinstall it 2x. My brother plays the game perfectly on his computer : ASUS R510CC Intel Premium ULV 1.8 GHz RAM 6GB 1tb HDD Nvidia Geforce 720M 2GB RAM He can play the game and have no lag at all. We are on the same internet : 250MB/Download 15MB/Upload So, in my point of view, my computer should support the game just fine. I baught this game thinking it would be nice, but with the lag, it's just insane. I know that this game is still in ALFA mode, but if my brothers computer can play it just fine without lag, I dont understand why mine can't. Furthermore, I can play COD Ghost on max gaphics and 26FPS and no lag. PLEASE HEEEEEELP!
This may sound like a stupid question but are you playing WiFi or Ethernet?
This may sound like a stupid question but are you playing WiFi or Ethernet?
I'm playing most of the time on Ethernet, but even on wi-fi it does it.
I would blame your NIC, I used to have a killer NIC in my desktop and I ended up removing it and going back to the one on my mobo, caused me lag in all sorts of random places. It would play some games fine, but for the most part it would lag me like hell, second I disabled it and plugged my ethernet cable into my mobo everything was peachie again This could be the cause, but not so easy for you to fix if your using a Laptop :/
Actually same, lag spikes are really annoying even though my pc is good, and can run rust at fantastic settting with good fps, i even get lag spikes when i'm on fastest video settings :/
Hello again all, I have found the answer to my problem :) it has no logic to my eyes ... I have braught my sound card to an older version and I have no more lag spikes at all ... Hope this helps some of you.
Cirox its conflicting drivers. if you searched your type of problem multiple people are out there with the same type of problem. My brother's laptop had the same issue and it happened to be his webcam driver...
It is game problem, I have good specs and Ethernet (500 Mbits/s) to my ISP at least, but lag spikes are all around in Rust. Waiting for an update that might fix this.
