Server update required: cannot seem to be fixed

Currently I am trying to update my server with the following command:

"steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +force_install_dir Steam +app_update 258550 validate +quit"

Basically it does its thing, but when I connect with my client to the server (or anyone else that has RUST updated via Steam), it gives me the following message:

Wrong Connection Protocol: Server update required!

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
