• Alternate inventory system.

So I came up with replacing Rust's generic inventory with something more realistic, balanced and unique like Resident Evil 4's inventory system. Literally the most fucking based survival inventory I've ever seen. For those that never played it, I got a pic: It basically removes the massive stacking of items like 70 centimeter bolt action rifles. Of course the items wouldn't take as much space as in the picture to keep it a fun game. Plus it makes it so that one guy in a raid can't carry 2 RPGs, 10 rockets, one AK, 500 ammo, 30 syringes, 30 bandages and 30 C4. Also one thing: Backpacks. I propose Fallout 3-like leather backpacks that increase inventory space. You know, just another medium tier item for the pack rats like me out there. I have mixed feelings about this. I agree that it is weird that a player can carry 50000 wood and 25000 metals on their person (whatever that means in reality). But then if you want this kind of system, I also wonder if we should only be able to carry most items in bags, or carts, etc to pull it around with. It's hard to balance realism in games especially when players prefer efficiency versus tedious grinding.

It's not about extreme realism or anything, but just a method to balance Minecraft-level inventory carry capacity. Weight shouldn't be taken in consideration either to keep Rust a fun game. The problem here aren't guys with 25000 wood because that's (Unfortunately) part of Rust. It's about the guys with a radsuit change, five AKs, shitfonts of C4 and even bigger shitfonts of rockets. I do REALLY think that if a system like this is taken in consideration, raider tools should be buffed. If you can't solo raid with 30 C4 and 20 rockets, then at least C4 and rockets should be good enough for another couple guys to help you without being undergeared because of the system.
