Hello.
I am extremely exited for the new game, and can see its potential. And I was wondering if you had any thoughts on bases and giving them more uses then just protecting your sleeper and supplies.
I was thinking maybe if agriculture, vehicles, horses and other domesticated animals could be added to give your base another level of purpose. Instead of just making your base with the one objective to have door after door to protect your stuff, maybe you'd have to think about things like, ways to get water for animals and crops, or the ways to keep the ground fertile and moist. Having to make stables and places to store animals, land vehicles, water vehicles, air vehicles, and ways to keep all these protected and in working order.
What if you had the option to make bases that float and the only way to them is through air or on a boat (unless you want to risk swimming there,making yourself a sitting duck since you can't use your weapon) but then you'd have to find ways to get supplies from the land and a way to keep land vehicles or animals safe or to transport them to and from your water base. Maybe you'd have to move them in larg rafts, maybe it takes allot of effort so you only do a supply run once in a while, maybe these convoys become big targets to other raiders, and it bacomes a bit of a novel battle wth the raiders trying to board the ships like simarlian pirates and the defenders are trying to shoot them off the sides whilst they try plant breaching bombers and load the supplies onto there ships.
I don't know, but I think with a bit of tinkering this could really add allot to the game and the whole base building element.

Im all for every kind of resource managment. Mining and so on.
I wounded what Garry is planning on, if he is planning on base improvements and giving them more then just the one purpose.
The new foundations look like farming plots, maybe it is just wishful thinking :dance:
