• 100% packet loss on respawn / receiving data.

Hi, I've had this problem repeatedly for the last day or so, and intermittently before that. Basically, about 1 in 3 times when I respawn or join a server, my respawn or join completely hangs and never gets anywhere. Alt-tabbing out, I can see that it isn't just rust but I get 100% packet loss when trying to do ANYTHING - voice conversations stop, no websites will load, all packets lost when pinging google.com, etc. As soon as I force close Rust, packet loss goes back down to 0% when pinging, websites work again, etc. and I then re-launch Rust to play again. I don't have a good internet connection (~5mbps download) but this has nothing to do with the connection dropping - this is Rust actually causing all my network traffic to cease, until I shut it down, at which point it resumes. Any ideas? For someone who dies and respawns as much as I do, it's a real irritation.. ;D -Ed
I can see that it isn't just rust but I get 100% packet loss when trying to do ANYTHING - voice conversations stop, no websites will load, all packets lost when pinging google.com, etc.
Same here. I've had a real bummer of an experience playing Rust so far, as has my friend. Basically any servers we join result in a 100% client packet loss on join (Use "F1 > network" in-game to check your packet loss). I tried close to 20 servers in every geo possible. After about 2 hours of searching, I've come across the following other threads that confirm the issue, but not the cause: http://steamcommunity.com/app/252490/discussions/0/611701360816758461/ https://www.reddit.com/r/playrust/comments/3963ol/100_packet_loss_on_every_server/ I upgraded my UnoTelly sub to include VPN because the issue was driving me nuts and I really wanted to know what the heck was going on. And yes, indeed the game works flawlessly showing 0% packet loss when connected via VPN. I played it for 3 hours straight with zero dropouts and it seemed to handle the re-routing via US surprisingly well, I'm based in New Zealand. I played via VPN on a US IP, connecting to a US server, and it worked fine. The moment I switch VPN off I get the 100% packet loss issue again. :( Keen to see if anybody else is having this issue? somebody fucking give a solution
Get a new router
Router will not fix issue, here's an answer, I wish I had a solution. https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1509415&p=49900938#post49900938
