I've not really seen it discussed, but I figured as long as the reboot team is still working on the UI, I'd bring up some issues I have with my triple monitor setup. I know that this will be a "first world problem" to a lot of people, but I think it should be addressed.
The opening menu screen looks great, except the background trees present on the center monitor do not exist on the two sides, so I see a grayish background behind the forest area. Here's an image.
The next thing, is once you click play, the menu area covers the entire three screens, really spreading the information out. The worst part is, since I have a custom resolution that includes the bevel of my screen in it's dimensions, I'm not sure if I'm missing information in those areas. I can't show it via screen-cap, but after the 1920x1080 area in the center I have about 15px of bezel hiding the screen under it. Alright, past the menu, once you start loading into the game, while it's loading there is a warning about cheating off to the right. I mean WAY off to the right. I have an image, but you should get the idea. My far right screen holds the warning info in the bottom right corner.
Then, UI within the game could be more contained to the center screen. Here's an image. As you can see, way to the left is where I monitor my health, and when I collect or use resources they're as far to the right as they can be.
So, the suggestion, since I know that they are using HTML for the UI, would be to have a container with a max width of 1920 to hold all the UI elements. Then again, I have no idea EXACTLY how they do it, I just like to have a solution on offer when I bring a problem.
Thanks! I hope these things can be adapted, it's really minor, but would make my experience that little bit better.
They should definitely work on this, once they have worked on everything else.
