Just wanted to know if this program [http://justgetflux.com/ could result in a ban, as I saw that some were speculating cheatpunch was banning for gamma and this changes monitor display. Thanks in advance!(someone with more energy than I should make a thread combining all of these sort of posts together like a FAQ)
EDIT: Broken link. :I
Double EDIT: Thanks to Sievers808

I was reading through the Cheatpunch thread and it seemed that people were kinda split on whether or not people were getting banned for gamma. I personally don't think it's true but ya never know. :P
I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that it wouldn't cause a ban, it was just an excuse that people were using when they got caught for using a light hack...
Lemme find the post....

Nobody is getting banned for turning up the gamma setting on their video card or monitor just fyi. Lighthack bans are from people fucking with dll files with hacks that attach lightobjects to themselves.

I wouldn't think so. It isn't injecting code, it just changes your display brightness. Wouldn't recommend testing it out though, wait for a second opinion.

I kinda figured a definitive answer wouldn't be easy. Thanks for gracing my simple little thread here. :D

No problem. In fact, this little program sounds pretty damn cool, never heard of it before, I might have to give it a go!
Should be OK, as it doesn't change anything in game. It won't give you any sort of advantage or help you see better at night (in game)
Who is stating that people are getting banned for turning their gamma up lol.

Thanks for the clarification, I'm going to past this into the OP.
I use f.lux. I ended up turning it off completely when I play Rust because it makes the game even darker than normal.
f.lux effects the entire monitor's brightness.
It will not flag VAC or Cheatpunch, so don't worry.
f.lux could never
I just turn out the lights in the room and I can see decent in anything but pitch dark.
guaranteed no. I use f.lux all the time.
Btw that gamma-ban-myth was squashed already. It's light-hack that gets people banned: when the player has a lightsource "hacked" onto their heads.
