Annoying chat spammers in Experimental

I think Rust needs an autokick feature for those spammers.

Here comes my pseudo code:

actually not a bad concept. my previous suggestion was a "mute" function for each player to ignore messages sent by a designated players, but this is far more automated:)

I think people who spam servers deserve a permaban just for being the kind of dicks they are. They know what they did and that they are not welcome on the server anymore, there's absolutely no reason not to ban them.

We had some kids on our server talking word 4 word in the chat
my kind of Solution would also stop this kind of "Annoying Annoyiness"

Can confirm, I was on a server with that cunt and he spammed us until I told him now to fix his wall issue.

No offense but that's not really pseudo code, in that your really just saying what you want it to do.

I have been trying to decompile the Assembly-CSharp.dll so I can make a small edit that would try to cap the speed at which you could type something, but unfortunately my decompiler was creating way too much unusable code for it to be worth it. Plus, with the number of times that they update it would only be worth patching on the weekends.

You're asking for a VAC ban if you edit that DLL.

If you edit the client DLL you will, you should be fine to edit the server.

No need to apologize. I got really close to injecting a hook that would allow me to use my own DLL to monitor the chat function, thus allowing me to kick spammers, but my decompiler wouldn't play nice with the new code... :-(

Every high-level description for code is pseudo code.
Some pseudo standards exist but you don't have to use them in order to write pseudo code.
But I guess you probably said that because it didn't really describe an algorithm.
Well, I wasn't too serious when I wrote "Here comes my pseudo code" and gave only a function call wrapped by an if...then :D

VAC detects KNOWN hacks and how they modify memory. They do not detect just any program that modifies memory. People would be VAC banned for using HLDJ if that was the case.

Disable the chat from the console for the moment . Then you will have plenty of modded and community servers to play on where spamming won't work .

wow, someone has it in for NoQuarter. and can't spell.

there is a banning system in place, if anyone remembers IronPI and his "experiment". in the end he was banned from the entirety of rust, there are a few alt accounts of him trying to get that overturned. it's a bit extreme, but presumably there will be a method to ban these idiots so they figure out not to spam pointlessly.

personally i still favor the client mute option so we can just choose who we ignore by ourselves.
