I just bought Rust today after watching some gameplay footage on Youtube, and whenever I try to play it, the game freezes my entire computer forcing me to unplug my computer, then plug it back in. I can play the game for about a minute without any problems, then randomly my game will freeze. Happened to me while I was harvesting from a pig, harvesting from stone, and just walking.
My PC info just incase anyone needs to know:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz
8gb Ram
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
and yes, my drivers are up to date, after the first time it happened, I tried to update them.
Hi, try to update directx, video card drivers to the latest, and then try to tweak your game.
Try to start-up with following parameters in steam:
-force-feature-level-9-1
-force-feature-level-9-2
-force-feature-level-9-3
Also open configuration file in game folder client.cfg and where you see true, change to false.
Another solution to tweak game in console (russian text translated above, so dont worry):

The exact same thing happens to me and i have an AMD radeon 7970. I have to blast my fans and limit my FPS to prevent crashing. and it still happens often.
I tried what was suggested and it didn't work, although this time it happened when my inventory was opened, so I noticed that the game itself freezes for about a couple seconds, with the loading circle popping, then the entire computer freezes.
How do I limit my FPS? I am going to go to bed, so any new suggestions won't be tried until tomorrow.
Does anyone have any other solutions? Also would someone be willing to tell me how to limit my FPS?
download MSI afterburner.
I will try that this weekend.
I had an idea, I had this problem happen to me when I tried to play Planetside 2 and I have an idea, if someone knowledgeable about computers could let me know. Could it be a power usage problem? My video card requires exactly enough power supply as my power supply gives (500 watt if I recall correctly), could it be after playing a game for a length of time, the fans start to go faster or maybe causing the video card to work harder, thus requiring more power and causing this problem to happen? When I get more money next month, I am planning on getting a new power supply and hopefully that will fix this, if this is the problem.
Friends,
every 20-30 seconds the game freezes for half a second.
only helps complete shutdown of all audio devices, but play without sound impossible, tell me how to fix it? - question is critical
I use Razer Megalodons headphones.
There is another moment, in console: skipped rendering frame because gfxdevice is in invalid state (device lost). - question is not critical
My Spec:
i7 950
6Gb RAM 1600Mhz
ASUS P6X58D
Gigabyte GTX 780
10k HDD 500GB
