• Will this pc run rust?

Lurked a few pages and couldn't find a thread like this, sorry if I missed one. Ordered this pc a few days ago and I'm wondering how/if it will run rust at absolute minimum settings.
Radeon R5 230
This is not a gaming card. You're buying a homework machine if you get that one, I'm sad to say. Here's one option that provides an up-to-date build for four different price levels and serves as a good starting point. Note that you'd likely need to build the machine yourself unless you found a site that can do a custom build for you, but Facepunch has an entire subforum on hardware and software with lots of info/help on building machines.
So you figure it will be totally unplayable?
Let me put it this way. My machine has an R9 270X, which was a ~$200 card this time last year. A reliable benchmark pegs the R5 235 (no listing for the 230) at not very high in comparison to the gaming-oriented R9 270X. I'm not specifically recommending a 270X, just a comparison. The 270X can have issues running Rust, but when that crops up it's usually an optimization issue and not the card being too weak. You just can't run it at max settings even when there aren't big performance problems. Here's a more specific and relevant comparison. It's not a gaming card. It'll do DVDs and YouTube and Plants vs Zombies just fine, but intensive 3D gaming is not going to be satisfying or acceptable on a low-range card like that. You'll want an R7 at minimum (in terms of AMD cards, at least).
Not trying to be a dick, but I'm an absolute scrub when it comes to these things, so you might as well of linked the same page in Chinese lol. I was more looking for an answer in between "You're fucked" and "30 fps" Thanks for the help though!

No to the BestBuy Homework Deluxe for playing Rust.
protip: the fancier edgier the appearance of the prebuilt pc, the less it is actually worth inside [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] exceptions to that rule are obscenely overpriced just for the shitty ~cool~ plastic case
Eh, I saw the 1gb of dedicated video memory and figured it was all g. If it's total shit, hopefully ill get a refund. Thanks faggots. safe travel.
also, 1gb of dedicated video memory is low.. very low for proper rust play. The game is on dev stage.. so optimization is poor and weak.. every time they add or change something, performance goes to hell..
I hate when sites describe something so generally, like "ultra smooth gaming" or "blazing fast graphics." Feels like they're taking advantage of people like the OP or parents trying to get something nice for their kid, they have no idea what the R5 230 is, they just read the description and trust it.
Would I be able to replace the graphics card cheaply? Could that rig even handle it?
The CPU in it is four years old. It's a homework machine. If you want a big-brand prebuilt gaming machine worth buying, you're spending over $1000 CDN even if you lowball the graphics card and upgrade it later. (Despite my current flag, I'm Canadian; I'm down in WA on vacation) Building it yourself reduces the price some, but building your own computer without help is daunting so I understand if you're not comfortable going that way.
This game doesn't run awesome on just about anything. My pc starts to lag at times during big battles which have in the past been unplayable and I have a GTX980. I'd just buy a more powerful card.
Building really doesn't save you any money in most cases, but when building your own pc you can make sure that all of the parts are of decent quality. [editline]8th March 2016[/editline] rust is an alpha, optimization happens during the beta. Upgrading from a 980 isn't going to improve framerate much.
Not sure if serious, or joking? You save a ridiculous amount of money if you build the computer yourself. Sites like pccasegear newegg or pretty much every other pc site, put a huge mark up on computers if they're prebuilt. I built my own computer for just over $2000 AUD, and for pretty much the same computer but prebuilt, they wanted $2499... That's $300 extra and the prebuilt computer had a shitter cpu and horrible ram in it.
1. Never buy prebuilt PC's. 2. Ask a friend, who is really into PC gaming to tell you what you need. 3. Do not call the guys that try to help you faggots.
Hey bud, if you're still looking to fix your GPU problem, I am selling a lightly used Radeon R9 380. By lightly used, I mean ran as my 2nd GPU, with the fans never on (never needed) due to it only supporting my 3rd monitor. Literally no stress has been put on it period. Almost brand new. $160 shipped, I cover shipping expenses and Paypal fees. GPU Stats: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr938g1gaming4gd
