Hello.
I have a recently (yesterday) bought a rust server, and I'm looking to get it up and running. What I would realy like to do is make it a server, with a good, mature and competitive community. I also want that the people who would play on it would get a fresh start. But, there is a problem: I am the sole owner of that server. Why am I writing this? It's simple. I would like to recruit mature people that would be the admins on that server, and I would like to recruit the initial community on it. Let's call those people settlers; the new players, that will form the groups, and first houses.
Ideally, I would like to recruit:
- 4-5 people as admins. These people would have to be mature gamers, that would take the responsibility of keeping the peace and helping the other players if they have got questions, etc. I DO NOT want people who would like to abuse their powers and abuse peoples games. Also, these people need to be active. The server will start up slowly, but it will need some people that will have to be online, to attract new players.
What I would like to offer in return. Not much. Just a place to play, a place with no admin abuse, and a mature community. I'm willing to help out the first few group of say 10 players with items as a welcome present and of course for helping me get started.
If anybody will be interested, make sure to post in the topic here. Or better yet add me on skype --> ninjaxx77 ... If I'll feel that the numbers are good enough, we will form a Steam Group with messages etc. If you want to be a player, make a post; I will invite you to the Group. If you would like to take the role as admin, leave a post, or skype me so we can chat.
The server is up and running already and I played it yesterday and it was 4 of us no lag and it seems like a great new server.
Anyone looking for a new start, looking for a place to start with no admin abuse and all that, this is the place.
I'm looking for a system where it will be 4 of us making decisions not just me because I'm the owner. I want this to be a good server and mostly fun. I'm open to ideas and suggestions on how to better the server and the settings and what not.
You don't have to have experience but it's a plus if you been an admin before. You don't have to be on all the time but if you are active that's also a plus. So hit me up here or on skype for a faster response ---> ninjaxx77 :)
I'm not interested in helping. (too busy) but I will tell you this: If you are giving admin abilities via a mod then make sure to log their actions. I ran a server from December till just a week or so ago and I had admin that helped me out. 3 of them. My rules were simple. No spawning in items for themselves or friends, to be fair, helpful etc...
All them them spawned shit in without my knowing until one of them admitted to it and then i caught them all doing it. They were no longer admin after that but the bottom line is if they can spawn...they will spawn.
Some mods allow you to dictate what an admin can and can't do. Thats the way to go so you have control over them spawning shit in as well as other admin abilities.
I myself was never tempted to spawn. I felt it took away from the entire point of the game but not everyone thinks as I do.

I would like to start by saying I don't use Skype/team speak etc. but I am mature and have experience being an admin and running servers over multiple games. It's 11pm and I have work in the morning so I will keep it short and sweet.
I'm 21, work full time and am engaged, I've been looking for a server where I can be a pillar in the community and help out as much as possible. I won't promise to play 3 hours a day, I play when I can around my schedule. I will promise when I am online I will be fair and do my best for everyone.

Not to rain on your parade foorun but Admin really need to dedicate more hours than 3 per day. Servers need active admin all of the time. Why try and admin for a hour or two here and there? I don't see the point but it's not my server...

I'm 17 years old, I have around 200 hours logged on rust. Needless to say I understand the game pretty well. I use TeamSpeak and or Skype (whichever is preferred). I also have some previous admin experience to bring to the table. I just recently stopped hosting my own server so I have some knowledge with management. I typically play a few hours a day, maybe 3-6 on weekends. It was disappointing that I was unable to get my server off the ground but with all the competition its not surprising. If I can do anything to help you guys do so I certainly will.
Hey Sylarx, I have an online Rust rcon admin tool, and a new feature I'm currently testing is to allow you to have full control over the permissions that your moderators have on your server (at least through this tool).
So you can turn off their ability to type rcon commands, spawn items, airdrop, change time, etc. If you would like to be a beta tester for those new features, you seem like a good candidate. I am a member of active group (7 players, youngest is 21 y/o) and we are in trouble. We are tired from changing servers, the situation is just weird. Right now we are playing on Belgium official server, but percentage of hackers there is huge and there is only ONE admin, who is online like 20% of time, so i understand what is active administrating and why is it essential to run a good server. Last month we changed not less than 20 servers. Part of them was abused by admins, other crowded by cheaters.
Our play times differ, some play more at morning-daylight, some at evening-nighttime (+2GMT). Basically, pair of our group members are online 75% of time. If you give 2 of us admin rights im pretty sure that we will cover a minimum of 50% server uptime. We do not need weird item spawning ability etc, just ability to go invisible, teleport and ban, so if your server is modded and you can control it, it would be great.
Just more details about us. I personally live in Estonia, Tallinn. We have a guy from Ukraina, others are from Moscow. We are an active Rust group, who are playing this game a lot already (not me, i joined 1.5 months ago, others are playing for 3 or 4 months together) and we know this game and how do cheats, glitches and bugs work. I have like 250 hours played, others like 300-800. Ive been an CS1.6 server admin for a while (1+ year), so i have some experience in detecting cheaters, which are usually pretty obvious in Rust.

As I stated when writing that I was short on time, I can actively administrate the server 1-3 hours most days of the week, though I can be 100% committed to proving support through steam via friends chat and a group which if it hasn't been already created, should be.

I'm 16 years old living in Norway (GMT+1). I'm interested in a fresh start, and hopefully as an admin, even though I haven't played Rust for a long time. I've hosted servers in gmod and various other games, and also know how to program in LUA. I can be on the server from 1-6 hours a day, depending on what task my school has assigned me. I also think it will be fun to be admin, because of the good feeling I get for helping others out.
