Silencer question - Rust - Facepunch Forum

Hey, so I've just been wondering what the silencer really does? cause people with the m4/silenced is still super loud. I realize a silencer doesn't cancel all noise, but whats the use putting it on the m4? the mp5 silenced is like a pea shooter quiet though, haha.

It's not a silencer it's a suppressor. It's function is not to silence.

silencers decrease damage and range. They describe it on the wiki

Short sound distance, no muzzle flash, minor recoil reduction, damage reduction * Silencer changes -35% range -25% damage -10% recoil * Removed recoil bonus from silencer * Silencer now removes tracers as well as muzzle flash, less range reduction, less damage reduction.
