What is the best way to bring people to a new server?

Me and a few friends started a new server and so far no one has stayed for more than a few hours. We run Rust Essentials. We have no admin abuse because the admins do not play on the server. Admins are only there to manage the server and change plugins. Does anyone know of a good way to get people to join and stay on a new server?

The admins and I have decided that the starter kit will be full cloth armor, a sleeping bag, a campfire, a wood shelter, a wooden door, and a stone hatchet. We didnt want to give out guns to make this an easy PVP server. You can still collect guns at the normal rates though.

We are not handing out guns to, but we do give a 1x1 with metal door so you're save and have a place to start. But if you're a new player I suggest you play a vanilla server first to get the full experience of Rust and having to struggle to get you're first 1x1

Give it some time... it can take awhile but the catch is that you need numbers to get numbers :) And when you get those numbers, you get the hackers which drops those numbers. Woe it is! :)
