• DO NOT RENT YOUR SERVER AT "HFB-Servers"

Hello guys, in this post i want to warn you against "HFB-Servers". Situation: I've rented a Rust-Server on 12th february 2014 and recognized that not a single mod is supported, although they said! You can install Mods via the Gamepanel, but nothing will happen ... trust me, i've tried EVERYTHING, i know how to administrate a server! so i created a support ticket at the evening of the same day, they took around 24 hours to tell me that they are escalating the ticket to a higher instance and a respsonse from myself will delay this, so i waited. yesterday i've received a mail, where it says: "This is a notification to let you know that we are changing the status of your ticket #334728 to Closed as we have not received a response from you in over 72 hours." They seem to be absolutely incompetent and i started the "buyer trotection" via paypal, because i paid via paypal. Paypal doesnt care about ... thats just sad! You can take a look at the whole situation in the screenshots i attached. Hi Do you have a "Mod Manager" option on your control panel? From there you can install the mods but they require a server restart to take effect. You can also manually add mod scripts using the "File Manager". If you need any help with these let me know, happy to help.
This is the GamePanel: (http://www.directupload.net/file/d/3537/a4idfqsc_jpg.htm) As i said, i tried everything ... ModManager, Config-Files ... everything! But nothing happened. I can't access any commands after a restart. Even the fact that u cant edit the Commandline in the Commandline Manager is just dumb
If you don't mind doing a wipe, it might be worth giving it a go, especially if support is being slow. They had improved over the past week or so with response times but looks like they're slipping again. Try booting the server with no mods on, allowing it to start up and run a couple of mins then bring it down and reapply the mods.
Thats exactly what i did ... 3 times ... - Wipe EVERYTHING on the machine - Steam Update - Install Mod(s) including the requirements - Steam Update - Switched command line on the "cheatpunch-commandline" - Start the Server nothing happened, its the same server like before and i tried it with EVERY mod (Rust Essentials, Rust++, Oxide)
:( In that case it looks like you're going to have to wait for HFB to get back to you. Sounds like an issue with the server itself. Sorry I couldn't help.
Don't talk bullshit I'm at HFB server and everthing works completely fine, the panel is very well working and server runs smooth and I got Oxide, Oxmine and alot of plugins working.
Don't talk bullshit I'm at HFB server and everthing works completely fine, the panel is very well working and server runs smooth and I got Oxide, Oxmine and alot of plugins working.
His server could still be having problems, they're not all run on the same machine. His first post could have been worded better but lets at least try be constructive.
Don't talk bullshit I'm at HFB server and everthing works completely fine, the panel is very well working and server runs smooth and I got Oxide, Oxmine and alot of plugins working.
okay, then try to explain what i did wrong "mr. dont talk bullshit" ...
You are not supposed to steam update AFTER you've installed your mods. 1) Close your server 2) whipe it 3) Steam update 4) run the server, let the server run for a little bit 5-10 mins, just so you make sure it has started up properly. 5) shut down the server again 6) install the mods 7) Boot up the server. I have HFBServers myself, and there is nothing wrong with it, you are just being mental and not doing things the way they should be done.
Okay, by the fact that u are able to read, u can see what i did in my post above ... its exactly what u have written.
- Wipe EVERYTHING on the machine - Steam Update - Install Mod(s) including the requirements - Steam Update - Switched command line on the "cheatpunch-commandline" - Start the Server
It is not.
It is not.
i tried it without the update before, but it doesnt change anything
I have a server with them and mods are working fine. Many in this thread showed you the exact way of putting mod in. You also need to know that sometime, mods can be down and not be available. especially after a patch. No need to blame that service provider, who give excellent customer support for your own stupidity. Just because you are not smart enough to get mod to work, doesn't make it the provider's problem.
HFBServers was the absolute worst experience i've ever had with a GSP It took me hounding them and basically telling them either refund me this piece of shit, or ill make it my sole purpose to ensure everyone knows. Servers are always laggy, even when empty. They take days to respond, when they do they basically say "google it" I finally got a refund after saying you'll lose more money by not refunding me.

Mods work fine on HFB. You're doing something wrong. I've used both Oxide and Leather mods on my HFB server. No issues.
Mods work fine on HFB. You're doing something wrong. I've used both Oxide and Leather mods on my HFB server. No issues.
And there is the problem, i did nothing wrong, u cant do anything wrong as long as you are not completely retarded! it is just not possible ...
Well problem # 1 is they have not updated Rust++ yet "HFB" takes them forever to do so 2 Days last time after updated Rust++... but then again it could just be this guy's server is messed up hell they have everything on lock down so you cant even tell. I do agree the service is not what I accept for service. The Skype link no one ever picks up. I send them a PM on these forums no reply still. I sent a ticket in for a Mod update said they were working on it and must of passed my server over for the update took over 2 days for a Mod update "rolls eyes" I could go on but I will stop there I am looking into a Different server provider for sure. I don't see anything changing with HFB at this time or near the future with Customer Service...
I also had a server and know how this company is and what our friend is talking outside the lag and disconect are absurd, I had to hire another company having al a loss of huge players on my server, and I am pleased by the this time with the current company.
Stating a GSP sucks because you don't know how to properly configure your server, that's just sad man.
Rust is in alpha, at the time perhaps it was because of the recent update? This happens often, I am using HFB and I use Rust Essentials installed with the mod manager, which works fine, although yesterday the mod wasn't updated, but HFB cant do anything about that as they don't make the mod. I came on this morning and both the mod and HFB mod manager were updated.
Weird. I have the same servers and I have one click install for all my mods. It works perfect...
I've a server on HFBservers too and works everything good. On Playrust.eu I've had a lot of problems. The only thing I can complain about HFB is the long time wait for answer on support team.
Only problem I had with HFB is they take too long to update the mod updates. I heard you could update the mod yourself though through FTP. I switched to FPSplayers and the server lags like hell, unplayable and they wont fix it, it is definitely CPU lag. I will just switch everything back to my HFB server and make sure to install the update manually when it comes out since I get no lag on HFB on the kansas city location. Keep in mind, FPSplayers are cool dudes, it could just be the node I am on is too packed or oversold. Since they can;t fix my lag I will have to go back to my HFB. I HATE DEALING WITH GPSs, I like hosting on my own.
