New server to Blacklist, Community thoughts on repetitive abuse. - Rust

Spoke to admins on server in question everyone has off days and hosting servers can be stressful, He genuinely seems to care for his server and is not the abusive admin he came off to be. Nothing else you can do anyway.[/QUOTE] no, this is my 1st thread, decided to register for it. and yes, ive moved to a new server, but since this admin seems to try so hard to hide his abuse by making deals with players who he has banned, i thought he would like to have it brought back up :) Also, if im not mistaken i was told admins can do anything they want, but if they are ruining the game by abusing, they will be blacklisted from rust lists. He can keep his server but he cant have our community and keep scaring people away.

No, they wont. They can do whatever they want. Sadly, many do. But there are others which dont. You have to search. Join a server, ask the community. Look for good reviews on toprustservers. Even if many are fake. You may be lucky enough to find a good one :)

This is the reason little 5 year olds shouldnt be able to bitch to their parents for money to derp around on a little rust server. Their logic: Hey you're not allowed to KOS, but you can, it's discouraged. We don't want you here, but you can be apart of our community, but we'll ban you. #BestLogic2014

Already got another im going to try soon, but this is why all of us left originally. 90% of the original playerbase left as soon as Pservers became main.

Thanks for the thread. I already black listed these morons from the last thread you made. Admins like this ruin the game worse than hackers IMO.

I often think about starting a server. I am about as straight laced as they come. I dont care if I get killed, I dont care if I get my base raided, I care if I get greifed. All part of the game. Hoever I just dont know who people would ever find your server when there are litterally thousands to choose from. Seems like a waste of time until they all die off.

I really wish rust would just go back to official servers so kids cant just leave when you wrkeck them and even worse, ban you for being better than them.

There are wayyy too many of these kinds of threads, it gets tiresome to keep seeing them over and over when the answer is always the same: "Play somewhere else." Oh and it's not just that we see these kinds of threads a lot, it's that you posted all of the exact information that someone else already did.

1st off, I am one of the admins on that server and Im not a 5 year old, Im 18 and the owner of the server is 27 years old. I was not aware of this happening since i was not on at the time but it is the owner of the server and they are his rules. He is working on getting a mod that allows people to do /rules to see them. At the time that all of this happened we had just recently been ddosed so all of the admin were on edge. And for your friend being banned because he asked what you did doesnt make sense. Our admin do not abuse there powers and they certainly do not ban for no reason, there was a reason behind that ban and it was either due to a private profile or a level 1 steam account. We understand that we can not stop the KOS in the server but we do try and say either in popup or as server console that we do not want KOSing. We usually do not ban the first time but we do give a kick and a warning and if you are complained about again for KOSing then we will ban you. In the past few days we have had to wipe multiple times because of people coming into the server and hacking, we understand that you get frustrated with it but you have to remember that the game is still in ALPHA and not all the bugs are worked out and that cheatpunch is not working properly as well.

Also, the truly mature thing would be to just let this thread go and not bump it to the top of the list so that everyone sees it again.

My friend just got banned from this server because he was on a rock that "there was no way to get ontop off" when he clearly built a staircase up to it. My friend was threatened to be banned for asking why. We just left this server they're super ban happy.

Threads like this make me so happy that DayZ implemented very strict rules that server hosts must adhere to. I cannot stand private servers because admins never make neutral rules. They might CLAIM they do, but as soon as one person starts to do something that erks that particular admin that is in no way disruptive or cheating, you suddenly start seeing people getting kicked. The worse offense is when someone out plays the admin or his buddies and gloats in a non vulgar / offensive way, and the response is to kick them. All in all, right now with Rust, I don't even feel like playing. I'm tired of using the meager time I have in this game building my character up only to get kicked or having the server wiped because the admin gets mad that they lost a gun fight or got raided.

Lets not pretend you don't have choices here as there are tons and tons of empty servers to wreck. I'm sure you weren't that vested on that particular server anyway. People like you troll, cause havoc, make people angry and move on to destroy the next server. We see it time and time again and in the end the server ends up dead and the admins get flack regardless of which side they stand. Players will leave because of asshats and therefore admins are going to side with those who keep the community alive. If you knew how much work it was to maintain and fill a server you would not be here trashing someone who did what you obviously can't do yourself. So pony up and pay the piper if you want to play it YOUR WAY. I'm sure all the underage asshats out there will stand up and donate some of their parents hard earned money to join your cause. TDLR: When you pay the bills you make the rules until then suck it up or play on official servers.

If you need the admin to explain the no asshats rule for you then you should probably go back to COD. It's nearly the same for 99% of PVP enabled servers. You want to be an asshat then join the extremely limited Deathmatch servers where they welcome asshatery. Very few other servers (aside from those run by Emo admins) are going to tolerate your destructive play style. And you can demand explanations all you want but server Admins don't owe you or anyone else squat. In fact players like you are basically a meaningless waste of a server slot and CPU resources. And to the guy who brought up DayZ servers.. If you like that game and the way the servers are run so much better, why in the hell are you playing Rust?
