Whenever I come across a simple wood shelter with a metal door, I think to myself, "I oughta just be able to chop through the wall with my hatchet!" Is this possible or do you need explosives to get inside?

If its a wooden shelter you can break the whole thing with a pickaxe or others but i would use pickaxe

if you have a group its pretty fast,if alone yea it takes awhile.
takes around 1650 food worth of whacks with a pickaxe
